PS the Roundhouse is a real place and I have been twice and enjoyed both times. I write poetry, so I got to perform it.

"So you are the young man taking my daughter somewhere?" I shied, my mother could be embarrassing. I didn't want her to shun my relationship with him as she eyed us both suspiciously. I know she wouldn't. Ivare's mum is married to a white man, who is like my second dad.
"Alright. I'm going to let you take her because MacKendrick has given you the go ahead but I want my daughter back by midnight if not 1.00 the latest." I was shocked my curfew was 12.00 my mum was being really sweet. "I would like to meet you properly Caleb but that is a later date. Go and enjoy yourself."
"Thanks Mrs James. I really really like your daughter and this isn't a temporary thing between us, I click with Ina." He gave that heart winning smile and I about crumbled on the living room sofa like a bowl of oats. My mum disappeared leaving us together as I put on my jacket
He was looking delicious. He made it look so easy. He had on jeans and a white shirt with a chequered t-shirt and a cocky smile adorned his features. He came closer one hand on my hips and another pulling me closer as he plastered my lips with kisses.
"You look amazing... amazingly beautiful." I think I'm falling, I was in skinny jeans and a pretty peach spaghetti top and ballet flats. "Here is a black rose."
"You are trying to outdo yourself."
"For you of course." He smiled. You could cook me in those dimples of his any day.
"So where are we going?" I asked looking at the time, it was just past 6.
"We are not taking my car, we are taking the train because I want to spend as much time talking to you and two because where we are going is easier on foot."
"Hm now I wonder." We walked hand in hand to the bus stop and caught the bus to the station. As soon as we took our seat, he put his arm around me.
"Let's play cliché." I said.
"Cliché? What's that?"
"Its typical questions you ask one another that you and I should know about each other."
"Kind of like 21 questions."
"Yes but better."
"What's your favourite animal?" I asked.
"A penguin." I giggled not expecting it.
"I love how smart they look but its evolution. When they swim on the surface of the water, the black blends in with the water like a camouflage and from beneath the water, the white looks like the sun bouncing of the surface of the water."
"Wow."
"After I watched happy feet, I took tap dancing lesson but I failed at it. OK what's your favourite animal?"
"I love safari animals, one year we went to Sierra Leone as you know my mum is from there and my cousins had pictures after pictures of elephants, giraffes, tigers, lions and so on. She had been on a safari in South Africa, so the following year we went on a safari too and it was magical, so so beautiful, I loved it."
"That sounds pretty cool; I've been to Kenya once."
"My mum hated it, the bugs and mosquitoes and stayed indoors in the hotel by the swimming pool most of the time."
"I would love to travel one day."
"Me too. I want to tour Europe."
"Seriously, same, I think it would be beautiful... so tell me where exactly are we going?"
