'Run'. That was the only word that ran through his head. Though his legs burned and ached from running through the forest. There was no way back unless he wanted to end up dead like the others.

Again he looked back, they were close. While he could not see them, their scents filled his nose.

God, he hated this so much. He hated this, hated them. He brushed his cloak over his body again attempting to hide his figure in the darkness. He knew that would not work because of his constant gasp for air.

For the last time that day he turned around as he ran. He stopped.

There was no one there.

Although he was confused the young man did not stop running again. Instead of slowing down he ran faster until he reached the near by city. He felt good, well, not great considering his situation but he felt good to be alive.

He slowed down as he reached the forests' bridge. It was barely holding onto life with it's broken steps and creaking from his weight on it. He shivered from the wind and pulled his cloak closer once more with one hand as the other tightly graped on to the railing.

He noted to himself that he would need to buy a pair of gloves later when he met up with the rest of the survivors.

He yelped as the bridge tilted to the right. He turned around and his eyes widened in horror.

There were four men that trailed behind him. Not close but also not far from him. The first one that trailed behind him was handsome, with a beauty mark that fell right above his lip. Though that beauty was erased by his hideous snarl.

He didn't have time to observe the others because he was far too busy saving himself. He had no idea how he would get them off his trail, but he would have to try.

He ran various scenerios through his head, each worse than the other. Finally, he had one.

He reluctantly pulled out four small daggers. The handle was decorated with a snake that coiled around it to the handle of it. Each a bright silver and coated with poison at the tips. While he would rather not waste his last bit of weaponry he did not have much of a choice.
