"Do you think me having blonde hair means the sun doesn't hurt me that much?" I  asked Mary my best friend, while playing with my short, wavy, golden blonde hair. She gave me a 'what. The. Fuck.' Look then stopped

"Summer just started and you asked that?" She said rolling her eyes. I smirked letting go my hair and standing up from the porch

"So you don't know the answer" I said smiling widely. She held up her hand I took it helping her stand up. We laugh I smirk once more and  start to run away from her

"HEY NOT EVERYONE IS ON THE TRACK TEAM!" She yelled behind me trying to catch up. Which only made me laugh more, I fill my lungs with fresh cold air, the sun shining on my back

"THIS IS GOING TO BE A GREAT SUMMER!"
I shouted at the clear blue sky

"Pony dear, remember to take out the trash!" Mom yelled from the kitchen. She was making chocolate cake.

"Okay mom!" I yelled back, grabbing the trash from the kitchen "thank you baby" she said grabbing me with one arm and hugging me. I pull away smiling at her, she smiled back

Outside was cold for the first day of summer, because of the cool breeze even with it the summer sun shined on my back.

"THIS IS GOING TO BE A GREAT SUMMER!"

A girl yelled running away from another. I recognize her she was on the track team and man was she boss. Her name was Robin, I watched as she zoomed away while the other tried to catch up. I felt bad for them but it's not like I can do anything.

Robin light laughs filled the neighborhood.. it was peaceful. Hearing people laugh and have fun here.

"Ay pony whats up?" Soda asked just now coming home he was hanging out with Steve and Sandy they went at a game.

"Nothing much, mom is making chocolate cake"

"Nice! I bet the gang is gonna steal it" he said laughing, making me laugh "come on pony" he said putting a arm around me. While walking back to the house

I caught my breath Laying down in a grassy Field. I reach my hand up to the sky like I could touch the clouds. "ROBIN NEVER DO THAT AGAIN!" Mary yelled catching up to me, she was a 5'5 with dark brown hair almost black, tied in two braids and a long pink dress. Mary was middle class while I was a 'greaser'.  She picked a spot and laid by me

"our last summer together, let's make it count!" I yell standing back up ready to run again.

"Fuck no." Mary said pulling me back to the grass I laugh at her. Mary was a beautiful girl with chocolate brown eyes and a freckled face. "Our last summer.." Mary turned to me laying on her side I copied her. "Robin.." she took a deep breath "I'm leaving tomorrow.. I wanted to tell you but my mom-"

"What the fuck!" I yell standing up my eyes already collecting tears. Mary stood up and reached for my hands, I moved me away

"Robin.. my mom she-"

"And? Mary we are best friends, we tell each other everything It's you and me why- why where you just going to leave me!" The beautiful blue sky turned dark Gray as my tears drowned my face. Mary didn't say anything just stood there. I couldn't handle it I wiped away my tears. "Since when did we care about what our parents thought? Since when do we listen to them when it's like this!? Mary I already knew you were leaving but you were not going to tell me!? M-Mary" I couldn't talk anymore only sob, if I couldn't trust Mary who could I?

"R-Robin I'm sorry but you can't blame this all on me! Even if I don't always love them I have to listen! I didn't want to leave you, you know how many nights I stayed up planing on running away with you? Way, way to many.. I need some time alone" mary said trying to keep her composure. She walked away

"Fuck. I just lost my best friend, god why am I such a asshole... she was right" I mumbled to my self sitting down in the grassy field even as the rain got heavy. It's not like I have any where to go

"Nice to start off a 'great summer' Robin.."

I woke up puff eyed in the grass field, filled with dew I sigh. I stood up and wiped my self off. "this is going to be a long summer" I said while I pass some kids playing with cards. I walked into town going to the cafe my sister worked at. 'Sunset diner' everything was the colors of a sunsets and clouds painted on the walls. I loved it there plus I got to eat free.

"Rose! My beloved sister~" I hum at working into the diner sitting at a barstool. I didn't even need to look at the menu for some reason I was really feeling waffles.

"Hey kid, I heard what happened with you and Mary you ok?" She asked, rose looked a lot like me and we don't look anything like our dad.. we both have wavy blonde hair but mine is a bit dark at my roots, we both have light blue sea colored eyes. She was wearing some light orange makeup to keep up with the sunset theme. Her uniform was like any other diner though.

"I'm fine.. it was bound to happen sooner or later.." I mumbled not really wanting to talk about it. I can't get over the fact she was just going to leave me like that! We knew each other since we where kids.. we were all we had and she was going to leave me! It makes me want to punch a wall and cry all night all at the same time. "Can I have some waffles pleaseeeee" I asked trying to smiling as bright as I can I guess she brought it.

She ruffled up my hair "waffles coming up" she smiled at me then went into the kitchen. I sigh there was nothing to do maybe I can see if Sandy is here. But she is kinda a bitch.. "welp I'm officially bored" I said out loud to no one

"Chill kid where is yours waffles" rose said, coming out handing me a plate of waffles. Which was weird since she just went the the back.

"Now that was quick!" I said not hesitating before I bit into them. Rose smirked "don't tell anyone but it was actually supposed to be there's but because of Mary you get a freebie!" Rose explained, I held back my laugh.

"thanks rose" she smiled at me, ruffled up my hair one last time, then had to get back to work "see you at home kiddo"

After I finished eating I end up walking home. "Hehe should I ask the sky for someone to spend the summer with? Pff- what am I saying that only works on shooting st-"

"Ouch" I mumbled a guy around my age ran into me making us both fall down "ugh- OH SORRY!" He yelled getting off of me once he stood up he offered me a hand. Which I took he had greenish-gray eyes. He has a good build for his size and is a fast runner Considering how he bumped me, and we both fell down and brown hair. "I'm ponyboy" he said letting go of my hand

"Robin, nice to meet you pony" I said deciding not to comment about the name, people probably talk about it enough. He nodded and was about to walk away 'I got a fanfic moment better not let it go to waste' "Hey pony!" I yelled standing still. He stopped and turned around

"Yes?"

"Wanna hang out this summer?"
