Part Fifteen // The note

Byakuya's POV

I am not ready for tomorrow.

Writing this note for Makoto is way harder than I thought it would be. And I have to give it to him tomorrow. I told Kyoko I would.

I place my head down on my table and sigh. So far my letter consists of "Dear Koto", and I'm even contemplating weather or not I should leave that in. Should I call him Koto or is Makoto better because this is serious? Should I even leave the "Dear" part in or is it better to just say "Koto-" and start the letter? Or is that stupid? This is too hard.

I should've planned this sooner!

I sometimes finish essays for school the day their given, so why is having this deadline stressful? Though, I guess I still can proofread for a few days before turning in an essay, unlike now. The deadline is tomorrow.

I guess it's dumb to compare my school essays to a note in which the contents of it is me confessing my undying love to a fellow classmate of mine. Especially with how I'm supposed to have children with various people so I can find the next heir of the Togami name. How am I going to do that when I'm in love, besides the fact he's a guy!

It's still best I write a note though, I know that. If I don't I'll be in this same position tomorrow but much worse. I'd probably chicken out or end up insulting him, really ruining my chances.

I think he did want to kiss me back though, so I'm guessing he sort of likes me. Unless I'm so blindly in love with him I just imagined he wanted to kiss me. But no matter what, it's better off I tell him.

I put my head up, so that now my forehead isn't on the table, but instead my chin is resting on the desk.

I grab my pencil and sit for a while. I soon start jotting down different things I want to say in my note. It's not in order, but it's going to help me gather my thoughts.

I finish writing everything that comes to mind on the piece of paper and read over everything. I glance around my desk, and take a short break before I have to write my final note. I have an envelope I got from the storage room after lunch. I ate kind of late, so it also counts as my dinner. I'm not going to get more food because during the time it took me to actually start writing anything for the note, it got pretty late. When I finally finish the full note, it will probably be nighttime and I'll head straight to bed.

I decide my plan for the night and push away my pencil. I'll want to write in pen so it looks nicer, and I'll definitely decorate the paper or envelope so it looks better, though I've never done anything like this before so it may turn out awful.

It's very hard for me to write this note. Unbelievably hard. But I will put everything I have into it.

I pick up my pen, and begin to write.

~Earlier today~

Makoto's POV

When I wake up, I briefly see Byakuya walk out of the door. Kyoko stands up and walks to the end of my bed smirking at me.

"Smooth." Is all she says.

I rub my eyes, and don't fully comprehend what she said until a few moments later, after I fully wake up.

"What?" I ask.

"I heard about what happened last night. The vent turned on, so you asked to switch to Byakuya's bed with him."

"Yeah...? What's wrong with that?"

"Please, do tell me where this vent is Makoto?And why this is the first time in days it turned on."

I get all red, and I burry my face into my hands.

"Theirs literally another hospital bed in this room. Why didn't you just move there huh? Byakuya must be really dumb for not figuring it out, or he did already. I'm honestly surprised it's possible to come up with a lie that bad." She teases me, and I'm surprised at how she's acting. She seems to be happier than normal.

I laugh. "Hey, it was late okay, I couldn't think of anything better. And I was really cold so it wasn't just because I wanted to cuddle with him."

"Yeah, sure." We both laugh together.

(A/N I have an idea for a really sad ending but I don't know if I want to do that. Maybe I'll make a bonus chapter of the sad ending?
