Prologue

"Xiao, where's your boyfriend? His debut stage is in a few hours"

The blonde walked out of his room, still trying to finish tying his braid. He looked around and saw Xiao sitting on the couch on his phone.

"Ah, he should be in his room getting ready-"

Just then, Venti's room door burst opened and he skipped out. His hair was messily done into his signature braids and he put on his usual gummy smile.

"You called for me?"

Aether nodded and flicked his hair off his shoulder

"Albedo said it's time to go backstage to prepare. I'll be with you so no need to worry"

Xiao got up and walked towards them. He made Venti face him and he gave his boyfriend a peck on the lips before hugging him

"Welcome to 4NEMO, Venti. You're going to be a member of our group now"

"Three down, one more to go!"

The leader of the group smiled happily and he accompanied Venti out of the dorm and left Xiao alone. He cleaned up a little bit before going back into his and Venti's room. Sitting on Venti's bed, he took his computer and opened a fresh document. Typing out some lyrics that came to mind, he spent the next three hours composing lyrics.

Xiao usually was to one to write lyrics while Aether and Venti took care of the music. Of course their forth member helped with the lyrics as well. Speaking of the forth member, he came back to the dorm and went straight into his room. Xiao heard him throwing his bag on the floor somewhere and he softly chuckled

He put his computer beside him and got off the bed. Walking across to his room, Xiao poked his head in and saw Kazuha sitting at his desk.

"Hey Kazu"

The sudden greeting startled the poor boy but he smiled anyways.

"Heya Xiao. Where did Aether and Venti go?"

"It's Venti's debut today, did you forget?"

"Ohhh right!! But why didn't you go as well?"

Xiao glared at Kazuha which scared the younger. Xiao sighed and lightly smacked the back of his head before reminding him

"Make sure to practice your vocal and dancing before you start school work. I stayed here to remind you... and also, I'd be a huge distraction to Venti. It's his debut stage and you know how Aether is... he never lets one of us perform until we're feeling at our best"

Kazuha replied with a small hum and then flopped onto his desk while looking at the papers scattered around

"I don't know how Barbara and Razor handle this shit... ugh!"

Xiao chuckled and put his hand on Kazuha's head.

"They're trying and you should too, you'll be debuting in two months. Your teasers will be released in one or two weeks so your trainee days will be over soon"

The younger only sighed as the older told him all this stuff. He showed no interest when they were lecturing him.

"You asked me to help you with your rapping?"

Kazuha perked up and nodded happily. Of course, when it came to stuff he liked he was very interested.

"Yeah! Can you help me?"

"Hmm... should I?"

He huffed and Xiao smiled a little

"Yeah come on, let's practice in my room"

(A/N: Oh if it wasn't obvious enough, Kazuha and Aether share a room. While Xiao and Venti share the other room. Both rooms have bunk beds so thats why Xiao just occupied Venti's bed for a bit earlier in this chapter :))

Another two hours passed and Kazuha was out of breath trying to catch up with Xiao's rapping

"Damn they didn't give you the position of Main rapper for nothing... you're insane, how do you not loose control of your breath??"

"It comes with practice, get on with your school work now. We can practice for our group debut tomorrow"

The younger of the two got up and ran back into his room. Xiao heard the door open so he went out to the common area. He saw Aether and a very tired Venti enter the dorms

"So, how was it?"

"It was amazing! But I'm so tired now..."

Aether laughed and closed the door behind him.

"Where's Kazu-"

"I'M HERE"

A shout interrupted Aether mid-sentence and one moment later, he was getting toppled over by Kazuha.

"Hey!! How was school?"

"Horrible"

"As expected"

The two light haired boys got off the floor and the four of them sat at the dining table. Venti flopped onto the table while Kazuha started drawing circles with his finger

"Alright so our plan for tomorrow is first of all, check whether Venti needs to perform his solo debut song anywhere. Then after that we'll start practicing for our group debut. Xiao, I take it that you helped Kazuha with the rap segment of his song?"

The second eldest hummed in response. Aether made a small orb of Anemo energy and rolled it towards Venti. The four of them quietly took turned bopping the sphere back and forth before it burst out into sprinkles of pale turquoise lights.

"Let's work hard for our debut in October alright? Kazuha, you're trainee days will soon be over and then we can finally debut as a team... Now what should we have for dinner? It's a special day for a certain old grandpa..."

"Oi! I'm not that old!!"

Xiao laughed and made a suggestion

"What about Barbatos Ratatouille? It's Venti's favourite dish"

"Sure, I don't see why not"
