"I'll be right here," you nodded in reply before proceeding to sit down, your fur failing to flatten down. You watched intently as Nene disappeared into the girl's bathroom, your eyes squinting in the process as you felt a coil of dread settle in the bottom of your stomach.

It seemed like no matter what, you would have to face him again someday.

-------------------------------------------------

The time passed by fast, at least in your opinion. Having spent god knows how long under a curse that prevented you from being conscious. A soft yawn escaped from your lips, serving more so as an excuse to stretch your jaw. The subtle rays of afternoon sun hit your cold ridden form, blanketing you in a warm light. The warmth of the sun, however, had no effect on your wellbeing. Your body was unable to absorb warmth as you had lost the privileges of the alive long ago.

A subtle groan that seemed to grow steadily in volume caught your attention quickly. Nene's familiar form merged from the depths of the girl's bathroom. She appeared to be quite exhausted. The alarm bells in your mind began ringing at a steady pace, the fur of your feline form standing tall as you rushed to Nene.

"Nene-chan, are you alright? Did someone hurt you?" you asked in hurried pace, yet your voice held a sense of calmness to it.

"Hm? oh, yes. I'm okay! Hanako-kun made me clean the toilets again. It's exhausting!" Nene replied, a tad irritated.

Your fur flattened down as you stared at her in disbelief. It was the first time Nene had seen you with an expression other than calmness or neutrality. "H-huh? Kitty, are you okay? Did I do something wrong?!" Nene questioned you with concern, making you shake your tiny head at her.

"Kids these days," you muttered, tone dipped with sourness. Why, oh why, did she agree to clean his toilets?

"Nene-chan, what do you mean he made you clean toilets?" you asked, tone sharp. Your eyes were slanted slightly, the gleam in your eyes demanding Nene for asnwers.

"A-ah, you know how I said I owe him because he saved my life? Well, that's why.." Nene replied, fiddling with the hem of her shirt. You squinted your eyes at her. She was not lying, but she was certainly leaving something out. You decided not to press further, however, seeing as the girl was flustered and tired. Instead, you offered her a hum of acknowledgment.

"Let's go home, then," you replied, your voice familiarly monotone in tone.

"H-huh, you'll follow me home?" Nene wondered, eyes wide with curiosity.

"Yes, don't worry about your parents, though. I will not reveal myself to them."

"B-but I don't have a bed for you! O-or food-" Nene squeaked anxiously, gazing down at you with mild panic. You merely stared her dead in the eye, a sense of disbelief falling upon you.
