"Others? Why yes, of course. All you had to do was take a look around you," the blonde mused, the lights in the area suddenly brightening, revealing a hill of dollified humans, including what looked like Aoi. Nene rushed to Aoi's doll form, tears forming in her eyes as the hope she had felt drained from her face.

"It's been nothing but failure after failure. I think I've had enough."

"Time to cut you into tiny pieces," Misaki uttered in a threatening manner. Your eyes shot to the large scissors that floated in front of Misaki, blades open and dangerously aimed towards Nene.

"Nene!" you yelled out in alarm before swiftly jumping in, hoping to drag her out of the scissors' way before it could touch her. Much to your surprise, Kou appeared to have the same idea as he too jumped in to protect Nene, the blades of the scissors clashing with his forearm in the process. You stared wide eyed as Kou's arm turned soft and weird- morphing into what looked like a doll's arm.

"We got this Nene stay back!" he barked at the blonde girl.

"Be careful. Looks like that thing's what turns humans into dolls," Hanako mused, sounding surprisingly serious. He held his knife out, standing in between Misaki and you, Kou and Nene. You huffed quietly before turning your attention to Nene, leaving the boys to deal with Misaki's attacks as they were not aimed at Nene anymore.

You nudged Nene's arm gently, your ears drooping as the sound of her distressed cries tugged at your heartstrings. She was still clutching onto Aoi's dollified body.

"Nene," you started, eyes soft, "come on now, you need to stand up."

After receiving no reaction from her, you sighed quietly. "You can't quit now. She's still alive, you know? This world exists on the border between life and death. Nothing is born here but nothing dies here either. You can still win if you just refuse to give up," you spoke softly, watching her intently as her expression morphed. Burshing out her tears, Nene stood up finally.

"O-okay! I'll do anything to get her back!" She declared, eyes still watery but lips pressed together in determination. You managed a small comforting smile. "That's great, because we have a yorishiro to find."

"H-huh?"

Motioning for her to follow, you led Nene to a edge that loomed over an impossibly dark pit. Nene's face paled at the sight, her eyebrows quirked with confusion.

"We've explored the top so the obvious next step would be to go down, yes?" you mused, eyes glinting with a sense of playfulness.

"I guess so," Nene muttered, still unsure of your intentions.

"If you want to save her you need to trust me, alright?" you paused briefly, "Do you trust me?"
