"I- I am sorry," Hanako's voice was incredibly small and quiet, the polar opposite to what it was moments ago.

"I don't believe you," you breathed out.

-------------------------------------------------

The air stood incredibly still yet there always seemed to be a phantom breeze playing with your hair. Hanako's lips trembled for what seemed like ages as he searched for anything to say. He was incredibly stunned; anyone would be in his place.

"Hanako-kun? Tsuki-chan?"

You whipped your head at the distant calls, eyes landing on the faraway figure of your magenta eyed friend whom was currently frantically looking around, seemingly having not noticed the two of you yet. Parting your lips, you felt your stomach drop a little, unable to predict what her reaction would be to your real appearance.

Glancing at Hanako from the corner of your eye, you noted that his expression had shifted a little. He seemed unsure and confused, more so than before. The way his brow dipped led you to believe he wasn't exactly thrilled to see her, which you found odd.

You felt yourself flinch a little as Nene's eyes seemed to finally land upon you and Hanako, her face lighting up slightly before being overtaken by confusion. You watched her jog up to you, finger twitching slightly as you found yourself unable to think of what to do.

Nene took a moment to catch her breath before looking between you and Hanako. Her eyes were large and unsure, yet full of naivety as per usual.

"Who is this, Hanako-kun?" Nene asked, voice quiet but soft and full of genuine curiosity. You noted how her eyes lingered on Hanako's admittedly unusual expression.

"It's- it's me, Nene." Your voice was soft, head tilting slightly downwards as the shame of all your lies crashed down on you all at once. Nene looked at you for a moment, eyes searching your face before she lit up with recognition.

"Tsuki...?"

You gave a mere nod, gently wrapping your arms over your chest defensively.

Nene's eyebrows creased. You noticed the uncertainty and confusion swirling in her magenta pools, yet you didn't find the energy in yourself to begin explaining.

The three of you stood in suffocating silence for what felt like forever- it was almost as bad as the time you spent sealed away from the rest of the world.

The thought made your eyes squint on instinct, your hateful gaze slinging back to Hanako once again.

"I- I don't understand," Nene spoke, voice quiet and unsure. Your face softened slightly, a sigh falling gently from your lips.
