✧.And now, decades later, he stood in front of you with a shit eating grin. You would have to be alone with him, just the two of you, for the first time in what felt like eons. It was unfair- this wasn't what you had wanted.
You had no choice. Not right now.
"Well then, kitty. I'll be waiting for you~"
-------------------------------------------------
The day was finally here. You had been dreading this moment ever since that day Nene suggested you and Hanako to spend time together- why were you doing this again?
A gentle sigh fell from your lips as you treaded towards the all too familiar bathrooms. You were taking your sweet time, though, feeling no rush to see Hanako.
Unfortunately the floating menace came into your view much earlier than you had hoped as he was leaning against the entrance of his haunted bathroom. You stopped dead in your tracks, shooting him an unamused look.
"I'm quite surprised! I wasn't expecting you to actually come. I didn't know you liked me so much~" Hanako spoke with his usual infuriatingly condescending tone. You held back the urge to sneer at him.
"You should stop feeding your own ego, its getting disturbingly large," you replied, ear flickering with annoyance.
Hanako merely chuckled at your response, yet you sensed no joy in his tone. It was honestly a little creepy.
"Alright- I actually have something planned for us," Hanako announced after clearing his throat.
"Should I be flattered or disturbed?" you scoffed, having a bad feeling about whatever the ghost had up his sleeve.
"Ah, come on now, I'm trying to be nice here! Nene did want us to get along better, did she not? She would be incredibly disappointed if she heard-"
"Alright alright, shut up already and let's go." You stopped him from finishing his sentence, voice filled with nothing but irritation. Hanako gave you a small giggle before motioning for you to follow him.
He ended up leading you outside, gently and carefully stepping on the freshly cut grass that surrounded most of the school building. His pace was calm and slow, as if he was just a normal person on a casual afternoon stroll. Unfortunately for you, he was anything but normal.
The gentle rays of the setting sun painted the sky with shades of orange and purple, outlining the carefully drifting clouds in a golden glow. It was a nice day outside, you had to admit. Despite the beauty of the outdoors, the tense and uncomfortable atmosphere that hang between you and Hanako was hard to ignore.
