Chapter 12- The Ghost Queen's Past

No one POV

Six hundred years ago...

A long time ago, there was a young lady that lived in a small kingdom.

She was fifteen and one of the most beautiful people humans and ghosts had seen.

Everyone loved her for her kindness, pranks, and how beautiful she was.

Except one person didn't like her at all...

That was her older sister, the one she hated the most.

She treated everyone poorly and said awful things to everyone.

That's why the king chose the young girl as his queen.

However, the young lady didn't want to be royalty and simply denied the offer.

Of course, this wouldn't let the king stop from trying.

He kept going on and on, but no matter how hard he tried, she just wouldn't give in.

Finally, after some time, the king stopped but didn't let her out of sight.

As punishment, she was ordered to be killed on the day of her older sister's birthday.

This made everyone very upset, and this made everyone disliked the king.

On that day, however, what everyone didn't know was that the young lady ran away into a faraway place.

There, she traveled through villages, helping people in need as well as befriending ghosts.

No matter how hard things were, she would think the positive of things.

Until she returned home...

Once she returned, she found out that everyone was suddenly different.

Not the sun shined, nor the water was clean.

She asked one of the elders to know what happened, and the elder did explain- 

Apparently, the day she left, the king married the older sister and fell ill. But, because there was no heir to the throne, he forced himself to get the sister pregnant. And indeed she gave birth to a boy, but the king was dead by then. However, the older sister killed her son and took place to the throne, making everything miserable. Now, everyone despised her and wished to leave the area. And most did, mainly ghosts and some humans. But those that can't travel had to stay in this awful, dreaded place.

Once she heard this, this made her infuriated. 

How dare the sister do this?!

And so, the young lady went straight to the kingdom and demanded to speak to her sister.

Once they meant, they were arguing about how things changed. How the older changed and so much more.

The queen then ordered the guards to kill her, but the guards did no such thing.

Instead, they rebelled against her and killed her.

With her gone, the young lady took over and worked very hard to change things back to what it was before.

With help, she managed to change all the bad things to good, but not everything was perfect.

Some people hated her for leaving, so they decided to trick her to die.

They left a pair of earrings for her to wear, and that was when things started to go wrong.

It made people hate her, even the guards, for no reason whatsoever!

Then, her health began to withdraw from every medicine, and finally, she was too weak to rule.

However, what the group didn't know was that beauty and kindness were replaced with evil.

Her morals would soon be gone, and everyone is now in fear.

She would 'jokingly' tell the guards to enslave or kill people, making her health worse. 

Finally, when enough was enough, everyone rebelled against her and cast a spell on her death.

However, that didn't stop her from living her life as a ghost.

She could haunt people, people she knows that can understand her.

Her pain, her joy, everything that she was before and after.

Only, the prophecy said otherwise...

To the present...

Phantom POV

"...And that's that..." Skulker said, feeling and looking uneasy.

Neither of us had spoken, but what I was curious about was this prophecy.

"I got a question..." I spoke, making everyone look at me.

"You mentioned that there was a prophecy, right?"

This made the ghost, except Vlad, extremely uncomfortable, but then, Ember spoke.

"Yes, and you want to know what it is, right?"

I nodded with Sam, Tucker, and Vlad.

Ember took a deep breath and said, "The prophecy said that if someone truly understands her, then on the day of the fifth full moon, the person she contracted with and herself will become one."

"Unless she managed to go through completely with her plan, we need to stop her at all cost," Spectra said, getting everyone to agree.

'Danny...' I thought, my core ached.

'I promise, I'll save you...'
