A word holds the power to kill,
A power to break.
Or it can even heal,
Make our subconscious awake.
Some words are deep,
Some are shallow,
Some words rhyme with heap,
Some with fallow.
Some words make sense.
While some will make you
lose your brain cells.
Or perhaps make you insane,
Leave you empty,
In your broken shell.
Some words encourage,
Some words discourage,
Some words enrage,
Some words keep your heart hostage.
It's just a matter of a few letters,
It can make a life,
Or kill one.
