Our mission was simple that day, infiltrate a zygerrian ship filled with hostages to be sold as slaves, free them and take down the ship so that it could do no more harm. I was leading the 501st through this mission as Anakin had a different assignment that kept him away from his 501st boys. We were plowing our way through the slavers who seemed to keep on coming. I stood at the front blocking blaster bolts and clearing the way to get to the slaves.

"How are you boys doing back there?!"

"We're doing just fine, General!" Rex shouted back. We continued forward until we reached the brig where the slaves were being kept. I freed them while the boys were watching my back. The slaves were terrified, starving and had been beaten.

"It's ok now, we're here to get you out."

They slowly made their way out of their cells and thanked me. There were small children with them which made me feel sick to my stomach. We ushered them to the small republic ship that we had waiting in the ship's docking bay. As we helped them on the ship one of the zygerrian men shot a beam above me.

"General!" Tup shouted but it was too late, the beam fell on my chest. I gasped and saw Tup running towards me before I blacked out due to the pain.

I woke up in a blinding white room that smelled clean. I groaned and tried to sit up but the pain in my chest was too much and I lay back down again.

"I wouldn't get up if I were you General." Kix said.

"What.. happened?" I croaked out.

"A beam fell on your chest, you broke a few ribs, almost punctured a lung if Tup didn't get the beam off of you."

"Bless that clone."

Kix chuckled.

"He's waiting outside by the way, I can go get him if you'd like."

"Yes please."

Tup walked in with a worried expression on his face.

"y/n how are you feeling?"

"Like I got hit by a speeder."

"How do you know what that feels like?"

"You don't wanna know."

He chuckled.

"Kix told me that it would take at least three weeks for you to fully recover."

I sighed then winced.

"Lucky me."

Tup held my hand gently and stroked the back of my hand.

"Anything I can do for you?"

"I'd just appreciate the company."

"Sure."

I lay still for a bit while holding Tup's hand gently.

"Did those people get to safety?"

"Yes, all thanks to you they got back to their homes."

I nodded slightly.

"That's good, no one deserves to be a slave."

Kix walked in and cleared his throat.

"General, you should be resting now, oh and Rex called for you Tup."

He nodded.

"I'll be there in a few."

I tightened my grasp on his hand for a second.

"You shouldn't keep your Captain waiting Tup."

"But what about-"

"I'll be fine Tup, go."

He nodded and left the room. Kix looked at me with a raised eyebrow.

"So how long-"

"Six months."

He nodded.

"General you should get some sleep."

"But-"

"No buts you need sleep."

"Fine medkix."

He groaned.

"You really had to add yourself to the list of people who call me that."

I laughed and then almost cried out in pain.

"I'd advise you don't try to laugh, General."

"I'll keep that in mind."
