Summary

Platonic, angst, threats. Ends with fluff, bad batch spoilers? Reader is the batch's little sister and her enhancements are stealth and agility, so her nickname is Sneaks. Her chip is activated instead of Crosshair's. Crosshair is her favorite big brother.

I had just gotten a report from Bracca that there was a power surge and that Clone Force 99 had been spotted there. I went to inform Admiral Rampart.

"Admiral Rampart, scrappers on Bracca have reported a power surge from one of the old Republic cruisers and a possible sighting of Clone Force 99."

Admiral Tarkin looked at Lama Su then back at me.

"Very well then, you may go take care of the situation Commander."

I nodded and left the room without saying another word and went to go get my troopers ready to go.

"Commander? What should we do when we get there?" A rookie asked me. I gave him my scariest glare because I hated it when rookies asked questions.

"Just follow my orders when we get there." I put my helmet on and it felt a bit weird as I was still getting used to the new feeling. I hadn't realized that I had zoned out until a rookie told me that we had landed on Bracca. I stepped out of the ship with my troops following behind me.

"I'm trying to get a reading on where they are but there's too much surface interference, Commander." one of the new recruits said.

I sighed and rolled my eyes underneath my helmet.

"There is no surface interference, it's Tech, you're being jammed, they're still on board."

I took off my helmet and cracked my neck and knuckles.

"Just remember, do not fire unless I tell you too and if I tell you to leave or anything like that then you leave. Got it?" I told my troops.

"Yes Commander." they chorused.

"Good."

I put my helmet back on and walked to the damaged Republic cruiser where they had been spotted. I found them trying to escape through the main room of the ship, I don't know what it was called. My troops cornered them and I held my pistols up aimed at their heads.

"Nice to see you boys again."

"Sneaks?"

"It's Commander, Hunter," I hissed. "You know, you five could join the empire. You don't have to run anymore."

"Sneaks, this isn't you. It's that inhibitor chip in your head."

"Oh shut up Tech. I actually am liking this whole Empire thing"

"C'mon Sneaks you know this is wrong."

"Wrecker, be quiet before I blow your brains out."

Then Crosshair stepped forward.

"y/n, you can stop this now. Like Tech said, this isn't you and that you're being controlled, you're the empire's puppet right now. And what will happen when they get bored of you? We need our little sister back. Come back to us. Come back to me."

He extended his arm out at that last sentence as if he wanted me to take it. My stance faltered a bit but I tensed up again so that I wouldn't show weakness in front of my troops.

"You can't help it, it's not your fault." I heard a small voice say. I looked down at the kid and glared under my helmet.

"Shoot them." I snarled. But before my troopers could react, Crosshair shot the metal supporting the beam above us making it fall between me and my troops, I dove out of the way to avoid it crushing my legs. My helmet got knocked off and there was a cloud of dust around my head. I coughed and waved away the dust before putting my helmet back on and I ran after them.
