Platonic
I was Master Plo Koon's Padawan and the Captain-as there was already a commander- for the Wolfpack. We were on this one mission that nearly cost my life. We were fighting some separatist forces on Shili along with the 501st and Master Anakin Skywalker and my good friend Ahsoka Tano. I was back to back with Commander Wolffe, I was deflecting blaster fire while Wolffe was gunning down clankers. Our other priority was to free the togruta captives that were being held by separatist forces. Master Plo Koon and I started clearing a path for the clones to surge forward and get to the captives. The clones held back the clankers while Master Plo Koon, Master Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka and I freed the captives. We were getting them to a safe place until one of them pointed and shouted.
"Akul!"
I looked over to where she pointed and I saw a huge beast with orange fur and massive teeth eyeing Wolffe from the tall grass. My eyes widened and in a split second it had lunged towards Wolff but I put myself between it and Wolffe. It clamped down on my arm and started shaking its head. I screamed and slashed at it with my lightsaber in my free hand. Wolffe turned around and saw me struggling with the Akul, he shot it and its massive weight collapsed on my body.
"Captain!" Wolffe shouted. I could barely register what he was going on around me because the pain pulsed through my body and my mind was getting blurry. All I remembered was my Master and Wolffe pulling the Akul off of me and Master Plo Koon calling for a medic, after that I blacked out.
I woke up in a bright white room that smelled so clean. I was slowly regaining consciousness and the room was too bright. I squinted because of the lights. I shook my head to release myself of the grogginess that lingered in my body. I felt a dull ache in my left arm and looked down at it and saw it wrapped in a cast and elevated. I groaned and tried to sit up but I immediately laid back down due to the sharp pain in my chest.
"I wouldn't get up if I were you, Captain." I heard a voice say. I looked over and saw a new medic, obviously a shiny.
"What.. happened, where's Master Plo Koon and Commander
Wolffe?
"You broke both your radius and ulnar bones in your arm and you have a few broken ribs. General Koon and Commander Wolffe are waiting outside, they've been waiting for you to wake up. Shall I go get them?"
"Yes please."
The shiny left and then promptly returned with Master Plo Koon and Wolffe behind.
"y/n, how are you feeling?" Plo Koon knelt down and held my good hand.
"I feel like I got hit by a speeder."
"I'm not sure how you know what that feels like but you did get hit by an Akul."
I had to resist the urge to laugh. I looked over at Wolffe who was staring at the floor.
"Commander? Are you okay?" I asked as he had a look of guilt on his face.
"This was my fault, it should've been me. I'm expendable you're not.
"You're not expendable Wolffe, okay? You're just as valuable as any person."
"But the shot I took, it broke your ribs."
"If you didn't shoot it Wolffe, it would've finished me off. I prefer to have a few broken bones over being mutilated."
I saw a hint of a smile on his usually stoic expression.
"I'll leave you to rest, Captain."
I nodded and he left the room leaving me, Master Plo Koon and the shiny medic.
"Did the mission go well Master?"
"Yes it did, little one, thanks to you."
"That's good."
We stayed quiet for a while because the dull ache came back.
"Master?"
"Yes y/n?"
"When will I get better?"
The medic spoke up.
"It will take about five months to properly heal. So you'll be staying off the battlefield for a while."
"W-wait but they need me, I can't-"
"y/n you will stay here and recover. I need my Padawan in full health, alright?"
I sighed. Big mistake. I winced in pain.
"Yes Master."
"Good."
Just then Wolffe came back and told Master Plo Koon that he had been summoned by the council.
"I'll be on my way now y/n. Promise me that you will take things easy."
I nodded softly.
"Well, I don't have much of a choice so yes."
"Good, may the force be with you."
"May the force be with you too Master."
He nodded at me and walked out with Wolffe. The medic continued taking care of me.
Six months had passed and I had been fully healed. I was wandering around the Jedi temple with Ahsoka.
"How's your arm y/n?"
I lifted up the sleeve and saw the scars littered across it.
"It feels fine. The scars are so badass though. I don't know how you managed to take down an Akul by yourself."
"Well it was no easy task obviously."
We both laughed it off. We kept walking and talking until Master Skywalker commed Ahsoka asking to go to one of the war rooms.
"On my way Master." she turned to face and she shrugged.
"Well, guess I gotta go now, see you around y/n." she jogged off and I waved at her.
I decided to head to my room and take a nap as I was very tired. I flopped onto my bed and almost instantly I fell asleep.
Plo Koon's p.o.v
I was going to check up on y/n as she seemed extra tired today. I was walking to her room when I heard her scream. I rushed into her room with my lightsaber ignited but only saw her tear stained form shaking. I put away my lightsaber and sat down next to her on the bed.
"y/n what happened?"
"Nightmare" she squeaked out.
I hugged her gently.
"Do you want to talk about it?"
She shook her head as she wiped the tears from her face.
"Do you need anything?"
"Can- can you stay please?"
"Of course."
She nuzzled up to my chest and softly cried.
"Do not worry little one, for I am right here.
She nodded. I rubbed her back soothingly and she tried to calm herself down. After a while she managed to calm down and she fell back asleep. I still held her close.
"Fear not y/n, for I will always be here for you." I whispered.
