CHAPTER 5
EARLY LUNCH
AS IF SHE HAD BEEN WAITING for her all the while, Blake appeared by Luisa's side the moment she stepped out of Mr Harris'—their manager's—room.
"So?"
Luisa jerked back in shock since she hadn't noticed the woman sidle up to her. She shook her head, letting out a sharp breath, and instead of answering Blake, she walked up to her desk, and picked up her wattle bottle, drinking from it rather slowly.
Blake followed her closely, watching her every action. Luisa, very obviously, was trying to avoid having to talk anymore about well, the girl that she liked, as she had so eloquently stated, not long before.
The short period she had gone into their manager's office had provided her more than ample time to second guess herself. She still wanted to talk about everything that was running through her head at the moment, she just didn't know how to, plus with the fact that there was no possible way she could know how Blake would react to her.
She took another long sip before putting the bottle down and then wiped her lips with the back of her hand—she was basically doing everything she could to buy herself more time.
"You want to know how many accounts I managed to get on this trip?" Luisa asked instead, evidently trying to get Blake to forget anything she had said, tapping her fingers on the table, "Even Mr Harris congratulated me, you know,"
Blake narrowed her eyes unimpressed, "Good for you, and also congrats," she did give her a small smile, but not before assuming her stoic look, "But no, that's not what I wanted to know,"
Luisa scratched the back of her neck, growing anxious, "Uhh..."
The other woman sighed, a small smile appearing on her lips, "Look, I'm not forcing you to tell me anything," she raised her hands up, and took a step back as if to prove her point, "I'm just asking since you were about to tell me something. But if you have changed your mind about it, that's fine. I don't mind. At all,"
"No, no, no," Luisa quickly answered, grabbing Blake's hand before she could possibly take another step away from her or leave, "I really could use someone to talk to," she admitted, grimacing.
"Well, I'm here," Blake assured her, patting the hand on her arm.
Luisa glanced at the clock hanging on the wall behind them—it was nearing their lunchbreak anyways. She nodded, picking up her purse, "Mind grabbing an early lunch?"

"That's all you're gonna have?" Blake raised her eyebrows at Luisa's choice of food.
They had decided to go to a Chinese restaurant nearby. It was sort of a buffet restaurant.
Although Luisa hadn't actually ate anything since morning except for two cups of coffee, she didn't quite feel hungry. She suspected it had to do with the fact that her stomach was in knots. Soup had always been one her comfort foods and so picked up a bowl and got herself some soup.
She slid the bowl closer to her, noticing Blake's questioning stare, "Yeah?"
"How's that even going to fill you up?"
"I'm not hungry," Luisa shrugged.
Blake shook her head and pushed the basket of breadsticks towards her, "At least this, or we can share if you want," she started to push her plate towards Luisa, but Luisa stopped her.
