CHAPTER 27
SAFE WITH YOULUISA SAT ON THE FRONT STEPS of her mother's house, waiting for Torrey. Her attention was directed towards her phone though, thumb hovering over the screen, over the little play icon.
She didn't want to listen to the audio. She didn't want to become that person. She had been planning to ask Torrey what had happened anyways, and she believed if there were something, she would tell her.
But still it didn't mean she wasn't curious though.
Polly was her best friend, and they'd stayed at each other's sides for years. She believed that whatever she did it had to be for her well-being. And so, there had to be a reason for her sending the audio, right?
A honk brought Luisa out of her muddy thoughts, and she jerked her head up. As expected, it was Torrey. Luisa's throat instantly dried up, taking her in.
Sure, she was patently aware just how attractive Torrey was—there was just no dismissing that. But right now, she didn't know her girlfriend could become any more captivating than she already was.
She was on a motorbike, clad in a black leather jacket, tight jeans and boots. Luisa had never understood the hype over bikers before; she just found them roguish and even a bit intimidating. But seeing Torrey in the very getup, she found a new admiration for bikers.
"You coming or not?"
Luisa realised that she was still sat on the porch steps. Grimacing, she stood up and cleared her throat, averting her gaze for a short moment, before they inevitable found their way back to the woman before her. It was proving to be a hard task to keep her eyes off of her.
Torrey smirked, as if she were aware of the effect she had on her girlfriend. Maybe she had planned it after all, Luisa wouldn't be surprised if that were the case.
"Whose bike is this?" she was pleased that her voice didn't betray her building emotions.
"Sam's," she answered referring to Polly's father (who was also Torrey's stepfather, she reminded herself discreetly—yeah, that is definitely going to take some getting used to)
"Oh," Luisa took the extra helmet from Torrey's hands, examining it curiously, before regarding her with the same curiosity, "So where are we going exactly?"
She only rolled her eyes, one side of her lips quirked up though, "Just get on, you'll find out soon enough," when she noticed Luisa's continued inquisitive look, she took the helmet back in her own hands, and put it on for her, "This goes here," she said in accordance with her actions," and then fastened the belt properly before putting her hands on the headgear and giving it a proper shake, "There we go,"
Luisa pouted at her, swatting her hands away, "I knew how to do that,"
Torrey only smiling, leaned forward, intending on giving her girlfriend a girl but their helmets knocked against each other, preventing her from moving closer. Luisa snorted, Torrey once again, rolling her eyes, pushed Luisa's visor down and then did the same to hers.
"Come on, let's go,"

"Ow," Luisa complained, removing her helmet and adjusting the tight hold of her hairband on her bun. It wasn't exactly comfortable wearing a helmet when she had her hair tightly tied in her usual bun.
