{ Chapter 17: Fear }

May 7th 2020

Tubbo POV

I rolled over to side and rubbed my eyes and sat up and looked around the boat, I saw Ranboo on the other side of the boat, my head was pounding as the memories from last night came flooding back all at once. He was sleeping in the kitchen area I got up out of bed and stretched, I decided it would be best to not wake him as I don't remember him falling asleep last night. I climbed up the ladder onto the deck and heard the sound of waves hitting the boat and seagulls around the ship My mother was up above stirring the ship compass in hand. I walked up the stairs holding onto the wooden rails as to not loose balance as the waves were rather rough.

"Good moring mom!." I stood next to her.

"Moring Tubbo!" she smiled to me before turing back to the ocean ahead glancing at the compass.

"Where we heading again?!."

"To the far islands! There is a rumor to be a portal to the nether there!, and while you are here, mind making lunch?!." I nodded and smiled before walking back down the steps and onto the below of the ship. I walked over to the kitchen before making sandwiches and then I turned to Ranboo who was curled into a ball and had a wrist tied to a table? I walked over to him to wake him up, he needed to eat.

"Ranboo." I said in a normal tone of voice and sightly pushed him, he only moved further away from me.

"Ranboo!." I said a bit louder and pushed him harder and he only moved further again.

"RANBOO!!." I yelled he nearly jumped out of his skin.

"Tubbo- Are you ok?! Did I hurt you-?." I put my hand to his mouth hushing him quickly.

"No, No im alright I promise, I just needed to wake you for brunch!" I smiled and moved my hand away from his mouth he sighed in relief and took his hand that wasn't tied and rubbed his face.

"Did you sleep ok..?" I asked a bit concerned.

"Yeah it was ok I guess..I still am really sorry about last night Tubs." He looked to the floor almost like he was about to cry.

"Hey, hey Boo its fine I completely understand it was out of your control!." I tried to comfort him to the best of my abilities. He pushed his body up against the table and put his knees to his chest. I put my hand to his shoulder but he only pushed it away with his hand. I put my hand to his knee slowly and tugged on his leg slightly to pull it towards me he only stiffened up and shifted away from me more, he then wrapped his tail around his body and put his head to his knees. He was moved so far back now the rope he had his hand tied to too was now getting yanked on as he tried to move away more, I stood up and took a knife from the kitchen and cut the rope freeing his hand that I assume he tied, he took the now free hand and put it around his body I slid the knife across the ground towards the kitchen. I put both hands on either of his knees and pulled his legs apart slowly, at first he jerked them back into place but eventually they parted and he loosened up just a tad, it was enough for me to move onto him and hug him as tight as I possibly could. His legs now stretched out completely laying flat on the ground, his tail was around my lower back and his head was in my shoulder. His hands wandered onto my back holding me tightly. I was sitting on my knees and hugged him as tight as I could. He began to cry. He sobbed he only held me tighter and tighter, like my life depended on him. I played with the back of his hair and hummed and whispered 'shhhh' when he started to cry heaver. I rubbed his back and rubbed the back of his neck, I was trying to comfort him in any way I could. After a while he calmed down and broke the hug.

"I- I'm -hic- sorry- I didnt- I didnt mean to- and -and -hic- ." His voice was shaky and broken. His words were torn into pieces. He was looking at me in my eyes, his eyes were puffy and red, like he had cried all night. His hands rested on my shoulders, his lips quivered and his body shook. He kept trying to make a sentence but it wasn't working. He kept hiccuping and breathing sharply.

"Ranboo it's all ok I promise you I understand." I moved my hand from my lap to his chest and I almost cried myself. It hurt me to see my best friend like this.

"I'm sorry for every-" I cut him off with my hand moving to his mouth he stopped all movement and started at me. His face was dusted with a color of purple across his cheeks, I moved my hand to the side of him face and held his jaw lightly and he began to purr like a cat and moved his head into my hand and smiled his eyes were closed, his emotions changed so quickly but also so slowly. I found him adorable.

"I promise you Ranboo it is ok." I said softly I moved my hand away and he sighed and looked to me and then he looked down.

"Now we need to get this food to my mom." I stood up and he followed I took the sandwich up to her while he stayed down there.

"What took you nearly a hour Tubs?." she asked.

"Sorry momma I got sidetracked!." she smiled and sat down and ate I went back down the steps and down the ladder to see Ranboo laid out onto one od the beds both hands over his face and a sandwich on the small table next to him. He got up when I shut the trapdoor. We ate and I laid down on top of him and shortly feel asleep to him rubbing my back and humming lightly it was comforting.

May 8th 2020

Tubbo POV

I was awoken by Ranboo waking me quietly.

"I'm sorry to wake you but it's early and I hear your mother up above. I don't know if you wanted her to see us like this or not." His voice was rasper and deeper I yawned and sat up and then I realized how close I made myself to him, I was burning up. He slid his legs out from under me and sat sideways on the bed I did the same.

"Yeah thanks she would flip if she saw us like that." I giggled and so did he I ruffled my hair and got up off the bed and walked up the ladder and got dressed in my moms room while Ranboo did the same down below, he got up and I stepped outside to see a large rock island. It was a rocky beach with major cliffs.
