The X-Wings helped us get the Razor Crest out the snow. They even fixed the ship enough to where we could get into the lower deck of the Razor Crest. The ship was still in a bad condition but it was better than what the Mandalorian and I could do alone. They owed me a favor after all. The Mandalorian on the other hand had hardly spoken a word to me. He flew the Razor Crest quietly as the child slept peacefully in my lap. The frog lady sat in the chair across from mine as I looked at the man. I knew the Mandalorian could feel me looking at him. And yet he continued to act like he didn't.
I looked down at the child as he slept. I got up before turning around, climbing down the ladder that led to the lower deck. I saw the child's metal container before laying him down in it and closing the door. I rested my hand over the closed carrier as I wondered what the child dreamed of. I could only hope that it was something pleasant.
I heard the sound of someone traveling down the ladder, I knew it was the Mandalorian without having to turn around. "He's sleep." The man said causing me to nod my head. I turned slowly, facing the man only to see that he was looking at me.
"Why didn't you tell me you saved Davan?" I looked away from the man before looking over at a med kit. I walked over, grabbing it before sitting down. "Stitch me up."
"Astraea I'm not going to let this one go-."
I turned and looked at the man, interrupting him. "Do you wanna stand all day and argue or stitch me up and let me explain." I raised my eyebrows as I offered him my suggestion. After a couple seconds of doing nothing he walked towards me. He sat down, next to me as I stayed still. I could feel his fingers on my arm as he touched it lightly, trying to judge how many stitches it would take.
"It's not that I didn't want to tell you, I just couldn't." I said softly as I looked at the floor. "But you didn't," he said causing me to frown. "I knew that if I told you then when you found out about my deal with Moff Gideon that it could've been used against me."
"You really think I would've told someone." The Mandalorian said stopping the needle from being threaded into my arm. "Back then, but now no." I said looking at him before the Mandalorian got back to work.
"Do you have any idea what would happen if people found out what I was capable of. That I could bring people back from dead." I said turning to look as the man. "You'd be able to help people." The Mandalorian said shortly. I shook my head before I spoke, "You don't get it."
"What don't I get. You'd have a different life than what you have today. Maybe even better than the one you're living now." The Mandalorian said as he wipe his hands from finishing the first set.
"I'd become a weapon." I said as I stood up. "Do you really think I'd have a choice of who I healed? Imagine if the Empire knew what I could do. They'd have me in chains and use my mother for bait in order to heal their men. I'd just be bringing murders back to life so they could kill again. I wouldn't want to live like that." I said shaking my head as I looked down at the Mandalorian as he stayed seated.
"There's no ending in this where I would've won." I finished as the Mandalorian stood up. "One thing I don't understand is, if you are able to bring people back from the dead then why are you hunting people got money. Couldn't you just heal your mother when she passes." I looked away from the Mandalorian before walking away. "What is it?"
"It doesn't work like that. My katana is capable of many things, but not everything." I said as I turned back around facing the man. "My katana can only heal immediate trauma leading to death. My mother is a different case. She has been dying little by over for the past years. It won't be work."
"You don't know that if you do-." I shook my head as I interrupted the man. "I tried. The last time I tried to even heal my mother it ended up making her feel worse." I looked at the ground as I couldn't meet the Mandalorian's gaze anymore. "It's ironic isn't it. I have the one weapon that can bring the dead back to life. And yet I can't use it on the one person who means the most to me."
