Ryan Case was the kind of person that doesn't like to leave a job unfinished. He goes and does his job and then leaves without a trace. On one particular night though, he messes up and it costs him more than he thought.

Peyton Wright was a normal 17 year old girl from Utah. Well... at least she was.

Her family has been here since she was born and she has 2 siblings. A younger brother named Jacob and a older sister named Tracey. Peyton does martial arts and is very good at it. With the personality and likes she has, she has weapons from knives to guns. She loves going hunting and playing sports. Her mom is a nurse at the hospital while her dad works for the FBI and secret services. That's all her family knows since everything is classified. Recently, her dad has been really busy and starting to get involved in dangerous things and people. This is where things go south.

Peyton walked up the stairs to her room and sat on her bed. The lamp by her bedside lit her room a gentle orange against the stormy blue-gray walls. She has just got back from an exhausting day from work at a mechanic shop. That's another thing she loves, machines. Some say she could build anything from old school to high tech. Peyton showered and got dressed for bed. After saying Goodnight to her family, she went to sleep.

Currently 4:38 am

Peyton awoke to a loud crash from downstairs. She immediately got up and got 2 knives from her dresser and carefully walked to her door- opening it. The hallway was dark and quiet. Peyton, as quiet as she could, walked down the stairs and peeked around the corner and saw a shadowy figure walk into her parents room. She followed and right as she came to the doorway, the figure drove what she recognized as a knife into her moms sleeping body.

"No!" Peyton threw a knife at the person, but they ducked just in time as it flew over their head and into the wall. The person took out a silenced gun and Peyton ducked behind the wall as bullets littered the place she was just at. She suddenly heard her dad scream for his wife, but then go silent as another shot was fired. Peyton ran back up the stairs as fast as she could and and burst into her brothers room with little race cars around it. He shot up in bed and screamed but Peyton calmed him and carried him to her sisters room. Tracey already had the door opened and asked what was happening.

"Shut the door," Peyton yelled at her after they were all in the room. Jacob was crying by now and Tracey was trying to keep him calm and telling him everything would be fine. All of a sudden, loud steps were heard just outside and all eyes turned to the door. Tracey put Jacob behind her and grabbed her own knife while Peyton got in a fighting stance with her knife in hand. The door burst open and both girls threw their knives- hitting a gun and a hand. The person grunted in pain and the kids could tell this was a man coming to kill them for a reason unknown to them.

Peyton ran at him and kicked him in the torso, but he caught her leg, twisted it, and punched her to the side. Tracey grabbed a knife from the floor and went to stab him but he twisted her arm and stabbed her deeply in the stomach. Peyton watched in horror as her sisters lifeless body fell to the floor.

"Tracey..." she whispered through tears. It was like a switch came on in her head. Instead of mourning, Peyton boiled with rage. She got up and punched the stranger in the face, then kicking his legs under him, she jumped on him and tried to pin the gun in one hand with another hand under her foot. They wrestled for what felt like years, but was probably only a minute before the man pulled the trigger of the gun still sideways. A small innocent gasp was heard.

Peyton looked to the source and saw her only brother looking down at his little blood stained chest.

"Peyton?" Everything went silent as Peyton watched the last of her family fall to the ground- dead.

She was so focused on her siblings that she didn't even realize the man pushed her off until a sticky hot liquid was covering her side. She looked at her family's murderer with the gun in his hand that was pointed at her and with car lights shining through the window, saw every detail. Brown hair, a stubble growing, hazel eyes, an unemotional face. But Peyton thought she saw just a sliver of an apologetic look in his eyes, but hers were getting blurry as she fell onto the floor. Eyes half closed, she watched as the man ran out the room and house when red and blue lights from outside shown.

Peyton closed her eyes and let darkness take her before the police made it to the room.
