Peyton peaked at her house. No one in sight except the yellow police tape all over. She snuck to the back door and was surprised it was unlocked. Peyton didn't want to stay here any longer than she needed to and ran up to her room. The sun was about to set so the walls looked orange. She grabbed an empty backpack and filled it with all the weapons she has including the medical supplies she took from the hospital. Peyton grabbed her dad's secret pistol, since hers was gone, and set that on her bed then turning to get new clothes. She grabbed some loose jeans and her combat boots then a couple of shirts. Peyton went for darker colors to blend in. Grabbing a black jacket and hat and swinging her bag on her shoulders, she strapped the gun to her belt and left down the halls. Peyton stopped abruptly when she saw a small framed picture on the counter by the back door. It was her family at the beach smiling all together. Tears brimmed her eyes but she blinked them away. Peyton took the picture from the frame and put it in her pocket. She then left the house without a sound.
Present time
Peyton walked towards the apartment and went inside. She took the stairs up to the second floor and walked towards Ryan's room. She pulled out a pin and picked the lock, then opening the door quietly. The darkness of night filled the room as shadows dances along the walls from the cars outside. Peyton had her knives in hand and her gun ready as she searched the apartment. She was surprised when Ryan wasn't here.
It's almost midnight- where could he be?
Suddenly, the door opened, flooding light into the apartment. Ryan's taller figure filled the doorway with a bottle of beer in his hand. He turned the light on and closed the door, then set his drink on the counter. Peyton was by now hidden behind a sofa in the corner. She waited until Ryan walked out of the room. He finally did and Peyton stalked after him. She saw him sit on his bed and sigh. Right as he turned around, Peyton swiftly came up and wacked the back of his head as hard as she could.
Ryan's body fell to the ground unconscious. Peyton got to work to heave the grown man out of the room and to the hideout she found.
Oliver Jones was frustrated. They couldn't find where Ryan was living which is supposed to be easy. Well, easier than this. The police station wasn't busy tonight, but still had people buzzing around doing their job.
It was going to be a late night. Actually, it already is.
Jones was just getting ready to leave when an officer stopped him and reported that they found Ryan. He came into the main detective room and saw a picture of Ryan on the screen along with his address.
"Let's move."
Once the police got to the apartment, they surrounded it and moved inside. Breaking the door open, officers flooded into the room and searched the house.
"Sir, he's not here."
"Check security cameras, ask neighbors, get a chopper in the air! I want to find Ryan Case!" The chief ordered. Jones was looking around the house for clues when another person came to him.
"Sir, with Ryan linked to the Wright family's death, we went to check on her."
"Is she alright," Jones asked. The officer looked nervous about this next part. "What?"
"That's the thing, Sir. She's not at the hospital at all. We checked cameras and saw her leaving the building to the East. I think she was heading home."
Oliver didn't waste any time pushing past people to get to the Chief. He saw Jones face and sighed. "Son, I know she's gone and headed home, we've got a small team out there now."
"We've got to find her quick. Who knows what Ryan would do if he found-" Jones was interrupted by another officer.
"No need, Gentlemen. We found her." The man lead them downstairs and to a desk in the corner of the building with a computer showing the cameras on it. The 2 men watched what was playing as an empty hallway. Suddenly, the door opened and a head poked out looking both ways before going back in. They were hooded so no one could see who it was. The figure then came out backwards while dragging a body- Ryan's body. His hands and feet were zip tied and a black cloth was tied over his eyes. While dragging, the persons hood fell off and Oliver's heart dropped. Peyton struggled to pull Ryan down the hall, but made it and disappeared.
The officer at the desk pressed a button and the screen changed to that of a dark parking lot. Peyton pushed the legs of Ryan into the passenger side of a truck and drove off.
"We can't find her after that. The license plate was too blurry and neither of them have a phone on them."
"Do whatever you can. I have a feeling this won't end good."
