(Eddie's POV)
So, it's been one month since my grandad died. Things have been really tough, obviously I've been living on my own for a while but that was while my grandad was still alive, and now that he's gone, it just feels horrible going back to my house on my own. Tori and her family have been a massive help for me, as well as the rest of our group of friends. I've stayed round Tori's house quite a few times now, even during the week when we have school the next day.
All my friends have made sure that they're always free to spend time with me.
I think everyone is just worried that I'll think that I'm completely alone now that I have no family, and honestly, I hate it. I mean, I really do appreciate everyone's help, but I hate that they're putting their own lives sort of on hold just to make sure that I'm okay.I've already told everyone that they don't need to worry about me so much, but they're not listening, even Jade has been really caring.
Tori's birthday is coming up and I have no idea what to get her. I want to get her something really special, which shows how much she means to me and how much I appreciate everything she's done for me. I've been struggling to think of what to get her for ages now and I just can't find the right thing for her.
Tori and my friends all bought me a brand new, very expensive electric guitar for my birthday, and Tori also bought me a double photo frame of all of us at the beach. I loved those presents so I want to get her something with jhst as much meaning.I've been searching for present ideas of my laptop for almost the last hour during study hall. My concentration is so fixed on my laptop and suddenly a loud clap right by my ear makes me jump. Hardly anything makes me jump, which shows how much concentration I was putting in to finding a present for Tori.
I look up and see Jade and Andre laughing as they both take a seat by me.
"You guys almost made me shit myself!" I joke as I close my laptop.
"We scared you that much? You?!" Andre asks in a mocking tone, but his face shows disbelief.
"Well I wasn't really paying attention to anything else" I say.
"So what were you looking at then?" Jade asks.
"Im tryna find a good birthday present for Tori"
"Singing lessons" Jade immediately says.
"Be nice" I say as I raise an eyebrow at her.
She smirks and bows her head."So what ideas have you got so far?" Andre asks me.
My eyes go slightly wider.
"Nothing at all?"
"No bro, I want to get something meaningful for her but I don't know what" I explain.
Andre and Jade stay a while trying to help me come up with ideas. Eventually, Andre puffs out his cheeks.
"Well good luck with this Eddie" and he then pats me on the back.
"Yeah thanks man" I say to him.
Soon the bell rings for my next class and I let out a frustrated groan. I pack my laptop away in my bag and head to my next lesson. At least it's with Sikowitz.
I arrive at Sikowitz's class and take a seat next to my girlfriend. Tori looks at me and smiles and I smile back and take her hand in mine. She puts her legs on my lap and leans back in her chair as Sikowitz does a cartwheel into the room.
Let the lesson begin. After school, I drop Tori home and then drive back to my house. She did offer for me to stay round for dinner this evening, but I told her I needed to go home and clean my house as I haven't been there for a few days. A pretty shit excuse but I need to spend the evening coming up with ideas for birthday presents for her.
