Chapter 31

(Eddie's POV)

I arrive at school at 7:37 after nearly missing the bus, again.
I seriously can't wait to get my own car again. It's a good thing that may be a big possibility by this time next week.

I notice Andre and Beck by the lockers, so I walk up them and open mine as I greet them.

"Hey man" Beck greets me.

"You alright bro, you look helluva tired" Andre says.

"Alright guys, yeah it's because I always have to wake up extra early so I don't miss the bus" I explain.

"When are you gunna get a new car then?" Beck then asks.

"Well I've been doing some extra work and saving up quite a lot, and I can use some of the money my grandad left me, so I'm hoping..."

"Oh my god!" Andre exclaims, interrupting me, as he looks towards the main entrance to the school.

I turn around to see what he's looking at, and I see Tori shuffling over to us, dripping with sweat.

"Woah" is all I can say as I try to contain a smile.

"Did you swim to school?" Beck asks.

"No.. This.. Is sweat" Tori pants as he wrings out some sweat from her hair.

"Ewww" me, Andre and Beck all say at the same time.

"Why are you all sweaty?" Andre then asks.

"Trina's doing some new kind of yoga which has to be done in extreme heat, so she turned the car up to 120 degrees?" Tori explains.

"She made the car that hot?" I ask in surprise.

"But you only live like 5 minutes from here" Beck then says, confused.

"Yeah but we had to take the long way around because..."

"... Because of that new movie they're filming near your house?" I question as I finish Tori's answer for her.

She nods. "It was like a 40 minute drive."

"And I thought my bus rides were bad" I say jokingly.

"Okay, well tomorrow I will you a ride to school" Beck offers her, to which Tori graciously accepts.

"Hey, where was my offer?" I ask with a laugh.

"Oh, uh.."

"I'm kidding mate" I say to reassure Beck that it's okay.

Beck and Andre start to joke with Tori that she is nearly 18 and still has no driver's licence, so she then flicks her sweaty hair in their faces. They run, and she chases them, leaving me laughing at the sight, and eventually following the three of them.

Tuesday

The next day, while I'm on the bus, I go on my phone and scroll through TheSlap. I see Tori has posted an update, Tori Vega: 'Riding to school with Beck... IN A CAR FULL OF IDIOTS' 'Feeling: Cramped'

I chuckle to myself. Looks like Tori's stuck in a car with a bunch of Northridge girls. They always used to ask for me and Beck for rides to and from school. Beck obviously stopped giving them rides when he got together with Jade, and I always refused to give them rides to school anyway, even before I met Tori.

I arrive at school, after stopping off at a starbucks just down the road to get a hot chocolate, and immediately find Beck, alone in the main hallway.

"Hey man, where's Tori?" I ask.

"She's in the nurse's office" he says.

A brief feeling of panic and confusion hits me, before Beck explains that she got in a fight with four Northridge girls in his car, so she's just getting a plaster for a cut on her nose and a bit on her elbow.
