2 weeks later

(Eddie's POV)

"Okay class, I want updates on your songs for the Spring concert which is coming up this friday. You've got just this week left so I trust a lot of your songs are nearing completion?" my teacher Mr Ritter asks the class.
He walks up to me and gives me an expectant look.
"Yeah I've nearly finished I've just got to write the last verse" I mumble to him. He sighs, then nods.
I have not been in a good mood ever since Tori and I went on a 'break'.
I keep feeling like I made a big mistake, but then I keep remembering the thought of her in bed with Jamie. I know she loves me, and I still love her, but I just don't know if I can trust her anymore.

We've hardly spoken these last two weeks. Well, she tries to talk to me so we can sort this out, but I keep blowing her off. I hate myself for doing that. Even Sikowitz has tried 'playing couple's counsellor' for us, but that's not really worked.

This mood I'm in has even affected my song for the concert on Friday. I always try to write up-beat songs for people to dance to, and any slow songs are about love. But this song, not so much. I haven't made it a completely depressing, break up song or anything, but it's still not like my other songs I've written.
The rest of the lesson consists of everyone carrying on with writing our songs for the concert. I just stuck on this last verse.

I turn to Andre. "Hey bro, how you getting on?" I ask.

"All good bro, I've pretty much finished my song now" he replies proudly.
I read through his lyrics, and I listen to the demo on his laptop, and it's good.

"How's yours coming along?" he asks.

"I'm just stuck on the last verse, any chance you can help?" I ask him.

He looks at me with wide eyes and an amused smile.
"Eddie Jackson needs help writing a song?" he questions playfully.

"Shut up bro are you gunna help or what?" I ask again as a laugh escapes.

His amused look is replaced with a small smile.
"Man that's the first time you've laughed in two weeks" he says.
"I know" I simply say.

I play him the demo of my song so far, and he likes it.
"I'm guessing it's about.." he starts before I cut him off.
"Yeah it is, so what do you think if I include a feature for the last verse?" I ask, trying to avoid his previous question.

"I think a feature would be good, a nice little change in the song" he says.

"Yeah, but who?"
The bell rings for lunch, and we leave to meet the rest of the gang. As Andre and I put our books in our lockers, Cat runs up to me and lightly slaps me on the arm.

"You and Tori have to make up now?" she says in a serious tone that no one hardly ever hears.
"As much as I want to Cat, I can't" I say sadly.
"Why not? She loves you, and you love her" she shouts.

"It's about trust aswell Cat. She broke my trust when she kissed Jamie"I say calmly as I close my locker.
"Hold on a minute, Cat, why are you shouting at Eddie about this all of a sudden?" Andre asks.
"Because Tori is upset, and when she's upset, she doesn't eat, she doesn't talk and she doesn't smile. She always smiles, and it makes me want to cry" Cat says as she starts to tear up.

I place a hand on her shoulder. "Cat listen to me, I do love her, I always will, but right now, I just can't be with her."

"Eddie, life's a mess and sometimes people do silly things. You and Tori are made for each other." Cat explains.
I raise my eyebrows and look at Andre, who has the same look as me.

"Cat, that was actually really sensible what you just said" Andre says.

"What was?" Cat asks. And she's back to her usual self.
