Sometimes we'd sit with the other lodgers;

We'd both found friends in the weeks we were there and a few of them had tried to call us over.

You were there much longer than I was, of course, so you seemed to know everyone.

We sat away from the others that day though.

I don't remember a lot of what we talked about that day; only that you were speaking faster than usual.
