third person pov

Emmett was sat in his room, sulking at the loss of his mate.

He just had her and he already had to give her to the shifters across the river? That felt so unfair. Especially since stupid Edward got to have Katherine to himself all day. Hell, to Emmett she didn't even seem that upset about not going to the meeting with Caroline.

Thus starting Emmett's disliking for Katherine.

~at La Push~

"Which one of you is jumping first? It sure as hell is not about to be me," Caroline stated, looking over the edge of the cliff. The boys shuffled around behind her, the lot of them shoving Jacob and Embry to the front.

Caroline rose an eyebrow at the two, waiting for them to do something, but the two only stood awkwardly in front of her for a moment or two. "You realize you have to actually move to jump off, right?"

The two nodded and then booked it off the cliff in some sort of race to the edge. Caroline smiled at the two, giggling under her breath at the twos antics. She placed her hands on her hips as she walked off the edge, the others trailing behind her.

"That was sick!" Seth yelled down to them, the two making some gesture back to him, but no one could see.

Once they made it to the beach, Caroline started clearing the group away from the cliff, making room for herself to make the jump she was slightly dreading. "Here goes nothing," she mumbled and ran.

All Caroline could say about the experience was that it was an absolute rush.

Caroline swam back to the beach and hiked back up the cliff with Jacob and Embry. Seth and Paul decided to jump as well, wanting to show off a bit to Caroline. She was like the coolest thing Seth had ever seen and he didn't even know what she really did.

The group made their way back to Emily and Sam's house, deciding they were going to have a bonfire to celebrate the alliance. "I'm freezing," Caroline's teeth were clattering together as she shivered. Paul silently picked her up and slung her on his back, the vampire smell on her finally washing off in the water.

"Hey, Caroline?" Seth tried getting her attention. She turned her head to said boy, while still being on Paul's back, showing that he had her attention. "What do witches do exactly?"

"We protect humans mainly. Keep the balance in nature," Caroline explained, her head bouncing as Paul continues to walk.

"So, kinda like us, except you get all these cool powers and we turn into wolves."

Caroline nodded her head, well more like bobbed, but still showing Seth he was correct. "It's part of the reason the alliance was made so long ago. We just like preserving nature a bit more than humans."

"Seth, did you not listen to any of the pack meetings where we explained why we were meeting with them? We literally had one last night and this morning." Jared stated, looking at the youngest member in wonder.

Seth blushes out of embarrassment, "I sorta forgot. Plus, it's more fun to hear it from a real witch."

"It's fine, Seth. I don't mind talking about it with you guys," Caroline smiled at the boy, "Paul, put your rear in gear. I have to be back at the border by 8 or else all hell is going to break loose."

"Sir yes sir," Paul started booking it back to the Rez, running at full speed.

The pack met back up at Emily and Sam's house, helping Emily prepare food for the bonfire that was taking place in less than 20 minutes. Jared was forced to go round up his girlfriend, Kim, and Quil. Paul and Jacob were supposed to be getting stuff together for s'mores, but got distracted by Caroline using magic to lite the grill. Emily and Sam were outside with Caroline, grilling hot dogs and hamburgers for everyone. Embry and Seth were patrolling before the bonfire, just so they had a guaranteed spot at the event.
