Obvious snowbarry but wasted for westallen

1: season one was the obvious setup for snowbarry. They made is pretty clear why Barry should move on from iris and keep himself open for new love.

They made Barry single, plus Iris rejected him also made it clear Barry would be her second option ALWAYS.

They made Caitlin single by killing her husband at the end. By that time, they gave enough hints that these two would be more than friends.

Everyman said, this was something he should have done long ago before kissing her. That's the biggest reference.

No I'm not paranoid or imagining things.

Let's break it and look close shall we?
Everyman replaced Barry in the lab by taking his place. Which means writers wanted to test what the audience would choose if Barry was to go for Cait.

He made it clear that Barry should have kissed Cait long before when he said "I should have done long before" Or something like that, I don't remember exactly.

When they kissed, Caitlin kisses him back in the second time.

Bruh that only set the whole f'cking story! It was supposed to be the biggest hint any writer could give!

Cait was attracted to Barry.

Barry was obviously attracted to her. Writers made it clear Cait was his next love interest when they made him wake up from coma to Caitlin's face! He was interested in why she doesn't smile? Dude you just know her for what? Some hours? Not to forget Barry and Cait had some weird path blocking scenes.

Season one gave enough references.

But iris was back to single and wanted Barry. So.....

It was supposed to be a test for Barry, he was supposed to reject her and move on from his first unrequited love and choose to be happy recovering from past.

That's what a hero supposed to do which actually impacts the audience, leave a massage that it's ok to let your crush go if they don't want you and be happy with yourself. Not, wait for your crush to be single and be their second option.
