I originally was gonna post this without a warning or anything, but then decided to not be that gruel.

This is about Marcus's wife's death so heavy grief, death, and funeral.

Sorry it took so long, current events in my life affect how hard I went this chapter.

The Last Day

Marcus was doing paperwork when he got the phone call. It was supposed to be a normal safe day. Nothing was supposed to go wrong, nothing. He didn't know that when he hastily kissed his wife good-bye that he would not get to do it again.

Marcus, Reena.... she's gone.

He felt like smashing the whole building down on them all. They had to be lying to him. His wife was gonna run through those doors with her beat up old sneakers and her Tech-No made staff strapped to her side. He would hear the gentle chime of her com bracelet hitting her belt when she swung her hand too close to her side.

Marcus, she jumped in front of those kids. She's a hero.

He knew that she was a hero. She saved his life his entire life that he knew her. She held his hand while he was hanging off of cliff sides. She smashed into criminals who got a little to close to him. She woke him up over and over again with her gentle smile. She made him want to get up everyday and do whatever would keep her safe and happy.

Marcus, it just happened so fast. No one could see it coming.

No one but her. She always saw what he couldn't. It was her superpower. Even without that slight advantage, she was always one step ahead of everyone else.

Marcus.... fail....

He failed her. He let her get hurt all those years ago. Maybe she would have gotten out of the way in time if she had been at her best, even better. He was responsible for this. He got his wife killed.

"Marcus!"

Someone shook him roughly.

His eyes focused on Miracle Guy who was shaking him again.

"Stop, Marcus!"

He looked over to see Tech-No shielding something.

"Marcus!"

He realized he was shaking so bad his abilities had sparked out again. They hadn't done that since he was kid. His computer was flattened like a pancake which gave him an instant panic. He kept a few photos on there of his wife!

"What do you mean she's gone?" he snapped.

They had to be lying to him. Everyone of them. It had to be the sickest prank they've ever played.

"They mean she's gone, Marcus. Reena's... she's not with us anymore," whispered Vox.

She was holding back her own sobs. Her best friend was gone! They were gonna go shopping later this week! She wouldn't believe it either if she hadn't seen it with her own eyes. The blood had been horrific.

"No!"

Marcus ripped himself from Miracle's grip. He wanted to throttle them all. They had to be lying to him. They had to be.

"Marcus!"

He felt his abilities crackle beneath his skin, and something else crashed behind him.

"I have to get to her!"

The building was starting to shake violently. Like it was gonna take them all out. None of them knew he could even control that much power.

"Marcus! Please! Stop this!"
