Constantly in the company of different people, Manny never seemed to live for himself. He never liked taking breaks, as fixing things and helping people was the only thing he liked.
"Why does everyone want me to go on break today?" he thought, as he paced around the shop anxiously. It was noon and he hadn't received any calls yet.
His tools on the other hand, were discussing among themselves.
"Kelly told me that she'd phone us by now," Dusty whispered to Stretch. The tape measure winked.
"It'll be a pleasant surprise for Manny!" murmured Felipe. "Manny estará feliz!" said Flicker.
"What are you all discussing without me?" asked Manny.
"Uh, nothing Manny!" said Pat.
Just then, the phone rang. It was Kelly.
"Hola Manny!"
"Hey there, my amazing girl. What's up?" he asked.
"I've got a surprise for you. The tools know where to go. Can you come?"
"A surprise for me? But what occasion is it today?"
"You'll know," replied Kelly, sounding like she was gnashing her teeth.
Manny was intrigued. Why was everything so unusual today? Why did the tools know where to go today?
"Let's go, tools," he said.
The tools giggled among themselves and went with him. Dusty was in charge of directing him to the venue - the city theatre.
"Why has she called me to the theatre?" wondered Manny. "Why is the theatre so colourfully decorated today?"
"Manny!" Chico's innocent voice cooed. Manny turned around to see the children, lead by Pepe.
"Pepe, what's up? What's my surprise?" he asked.
"You'll soon know," said Pepe. "But you must be blindfolded."
Kevin, who was the tallest, blindfolded Manny. Pepe held his hand, and all the children led him inside the theatre.
When the blindfold was removed, Manny was very astonished at what he saw.
