"Happy Birthday Manny!" said Kelly, giving him a big hug and a kiss. Behind her was Lola, holding a big chocolate cake with white icing, which had been made by Mrs Portillo.
His siblings, Abuelito, and all the residents of the town were there, including Mayor Rosa. Surprisingly, Dwayne Bouffant wasn't reporting anything, as Mayor Rosa had told him and all the other media persons not to.
Manny was speechless and overwhelmed at the same time.
"Manny, you have always saved the day at times of adversity," said Mayor Rosa. "The whole town is grateful to you."
"Come and cut the cake, Manny!" said Mrs Portillo. "I made it specially for you."
Manny obliged. These nice people were the reason why he did what he did. He liked repairing things only to help them in not-so-good times.
"Thank you so much, everyone. I had totally forgotten that it was my birthday. But you all remembered..."
He couldn't finish the sentence as Kelly had stuffed a big chunk of cake into his mouth.
"Manny, here's my gift," said Pepe, handing him a card which he had made.
"Ooh, fabuloso. I love it! Gracias Pepe!"
Manny hugged his nephew and kissed him on the forehead.
This birthday was definitely something to be cherished. The tools were enjoying themselves.
