The year was drawing to a close, and Christmas was around the corner.
Manny began seeing his future with Kelly. He was sure that they would be perfect, and was ready.
"So, you and Kelly will be together forever!" said Felipe. "Juntos siempre!" said Flicker.
"Forever, all right!" grumbled Turner.
"But I'm not sure how to tell her," said Manny. "I want to do it differently."
"Ah, you can do it Manny," said Squeeze. "You can!" lisped Stretch.
"Discussing about your future with Kelly, huh?" asked Abuelito's gruff voice laughingly. Manny turned to see his grandfather, who now had a knowing look on his face.
"Oh, hola Abuelito. Como estás?"
"I'm fine, Manny. Thank you," said Abuelito. "Pilar told me to give you this." he added, handing him a small package.
"Oh, thanks."
"Anyway, let's get to your issue. You want to ask Kelly to be with you forever, don't you?"
"Yes, Abuelito," responded Manny. "You know how much I love her."
"Wasn't it obvious since my wedding?" said Abuelito, and gave Manny a pat on the back. "But what's stopping you from proceeding?"
"Confusion," said Dusty, filling in for Manny. "Abuelito, Manny wants to propose to Kelly in a different way, and..."
"Diferente, mmm..." Abuelito muttered under his breath. "Why don't you make her something on your own? Something creative."
"Great idea! Gracias Abuelito!"
"Denada," said Abuelito. "Anything for my darling grandson."
"But, do you think it's too early?"
"Only officially," said Abuelito. "You both have been in love since what, five years?"
"Four years," replied Manny.
"Exactly. Go and tell her your heart!"
