Peter remained silent as to what he was doing in order to keep the loft safe from those who would be hunting us. Though Derek also became pretty busy as well in working to get Peter cleared so he could safely walk around. It seemed he knew a person perfect for getting the job done, for a price.
"Where are you going dressed like that?" asked Peter a few days later as I sat to pull on my heels.
The day of Lydia's party had arrived, and we had spent the first bit getting the place ready. After that I had mentioned heading home to get changed before coming back getting a wink from Lydia and Jules both of who knew I hadn't been staying at my house the last couple days.
"Back to school party," I answered honestly as I stood up.
I had styled my hair into a messy updo with a more natural makeup look to make the red lipstick pop.
"Which is where I was this morning as well to help set up."
"How fun," teased Peter with a light roll of his eyes and a slight negligent wave of his hand. "Derek is going with you."
I didn't try to deny it since Allison would likely be there with Scott and Stiles. And honestly, we were safer in numbers anyway on top of Derek being a hot date to take.
"Do you know when you plan to speak with Scott?" I asked after checking my look one last time.
"Sometime soon," answered Peter as he looked away from the laptop set in front of him. "Leaving it for too long only spells trouble."
"Especially with Scott," I said in agreement before walking to his side to place a kiss to his cheek.
"Try to not get into too much trouble while we are away."
"No promises," said Peter with a smirk even as he nodded at Derek who ambled into the room.
"Keep her safe tonight."
"Of course," agreed Derek without hesitation as he easily placed a hand on my hip. "We'll keep in touch."
I easily placed my phone and wallet into the small purse I was taking before following after Derek. Hopefully I would be able to let loose and have fun tonight with Derek watching my back to make sure I didn't lose control.
"So, this is who you are shacking up with," mused Lydia the minute we arrived. "Not bad."
"Thanks," I said dryly before pulling her into a tight hug. "Jackson really came through with that band."
"Of course, I did," agreed Jackson as his arm wrapped around Lydia's waist as he nodded toward Derek. "So why don't you take the boy toy and go dancing already."
I didn't let Derek snap back as I grabbed his hand and first stopped at Lydia's bedroom to drop off my jacket and purse before heading for the backyard. We really outdid ourselves in making the place almost fairy like with the lights and placement of the food and band.
"Forgot how dickish teen boys can be," muttered Derek making me hold back a snort of laughter.
"You do know I don't dance right?"
"Too bad," I retorted pulling him to the side out of people's way while wrapping my arms around his shoulders. "Because I want to dance and youre the only one I trust to not try getting frisky."
"Anyone who tries that shit is going to get a broken hand," snarled Derek making me step a bit closer to sooth his wolf.
"I mean it Mars."
"I know," I said in agreement keeping my voice low even as I slowly rocked my hips as his hands rested upon them gently. "Peter and you won't let anything happen to me.
Though that does remind me of who could be given the option of the bite next."
"Who?" asked Derek as he began to move with me.
It seemed distracting him was working.
"Isaac," I answered with a small sad smile. "His father abuses him, and he would give our pack complete loyalty."
"I'll bring it up to Peter," said Derek before glaring at something behind me.
He didn't give me a chance to look for myself as he pulled me tightly against him and buried his face against my neck.
"Your brother is here with Scott and they brought Allison."
Of course, they did. Honestly it royally pissed me off at how pussy-whipped Scott was to her. But I let it roll off my back because the moment he betrayed Stiles was the moment I would strike because no one hurts my brother.
"Stiles," growled Scott from somewhere behind me.
Werewolf hearing was amazing.
"She brought Derek."
"What?" whisper shouted Stiles making me grimace with a wrinkle of my nose.
"You have got to be joking I mean I know she has been staying away from home since our fight but to seek shelter with that weirdo?!"
"They can hear you," muttered Scott as I twisted a bit to glare at them while tightening my arms around Derek who growled. "And I don't think either are happy with that comment."
"Mars enough," stated Stiles with a flap of his hands as he headed toward me. "I'm sorry okay?"
"Let's go," I said seriously fun ruined as I let Derek lead me away with a stop to Lydia's room for my things. "Just one night without them ruining my fun."
"That was quick," mused Peter as we walked into the loft. "You don't look happy."
"Scott and Stiles," I said in answer while plopping down onto the couch with my head landing in Peter's lap.
"Enough said."
"Sorry little wolf," offered Peter as he slowly pulled my hair free from the updo. "But things will get better I promise."
"You did have a bit of fun," agreed Derek as he picked up my feet to pull my heels off. "So, focus on the good and not the bad."
"Easier said than done," I grumbled even as I accepted the comfort they offered.
