I hadn't really thought on the fact that I had such a large influence upon my friends. Not until Lydia easily stated that if I didn't trust Allison than neither would they, that they would blacklist someone new to the school and Beacon Hills, all just because of me and how I felt toward the girl. But in truth, even knowing it made me a horrid person, well I was glad for it, because it meant Allison and her family couldn't get into my friends head. Wouldn't be able to use them against the other.
"You alright Mars?" asked Dad later that night as he ambled into the kitchen where I was sitting at the table working on some of my homework.
"I'm alright," I answered before hesitating for only a second before straightening my shoulders and facing him head on.
Dad once admitted when drunk off his ass that I reminded him so much of our mother that sometimes it made it hard for him to even look at me, and honestly, I at first never knew how to deal with that.
"I have to tell you something and I know it will be hard to believe and you might think I am insane. But you have to listen and let me finish."
"Alright," agreed Dad in confusion as he moved to sit across from me.
But yet no sooner had his hand closed onto the back of the chair than his cellphone was ringing, because of course he would get called back into work now.
"Can it wait? I promise that once this is all done, and I have a minute we can talk."
"Yeah of course," I lied giving him a fake strained smile before waving him off while motioning toward my homework with an eye roll. "I have a lot of homework to get done anyway.
Be careful out there dad."
"Please tell me you weren't about to tell dad," demanded Stiles as he rushed into the kitchen after offering his own goodbyes as he slumped into the seat across from me. "Because you know how stupid that would be Mars."
"Can you for once actually listen to me and not treat me like a two-year-old child?" I snapped hiding the hurt that Stiles couldn't trust me, not even in this.
"Of course, I listen to you," answered Stiles as his leg began to jump up and down while he drummed his fingers across the tabletop. "Its just that this is something that is way over our heads and until we have a clearer picture. Well I just don't believe it would be wise to inform dad just yet."
"I know this is bigger than we can even imagine Stiles," I snarled eyes flashing a bright cobalt blue as my nails turned into claws making Stiles' eyes widen as he leaned back away from me in fear making me flinch back as well while my eyes returned to their normal color and the claws disappeared.
"Lord knows I actually went to someone who can help me with this seeing as this is their life! Are you even aware that the Argent family is that of a legacy which hunts down and kills werewolves?!"
"How do you know that?" asked Stiles eyes hard as he straightened in his seat as he reached across the table to take my hands in his.
"Mars you have to tell me how you know that."
"Because I ran across Allison Argent's father in the Reservation talking with another about using that dead girl as bait to lure back in Derek Hale so they can kill him," I answered shoulders trembling with fear as I remembered that night and how if Derek hadn't been there to keep me silent and safe.
Well I could be dead right now.
"So yes, excuse me for not wanting anything to do with the girl whose family would happily torture and murder me!"
"Mars," began Stiles voice thick with regret as he looked toward me making me snatch my hands back as I shot to my feet and dashed from the house even if it wasn't as fast as I could run.
"Mars come back!"

I don't know how I ended up here, nor if this was even the right choice to make, and yet I couldn't help sneaking into Peter Hale's room through the cracked window even as another deeper part of me feared this was a horrid mistake. It was only after I collapsed into the chair beside his bed where he seemed to be sleeping, not that I believed that for a second, did I realize that I had left my cellphone at home and was currently only wearing my pj's for bed.
"Today has been a really horrid day," I whispered softly to Peter as I took his hand in mine and bringing it up to rest against my forehead as my eyes squeezed shut. "And honestly I hadn't thought it would hurt this badly to know that my own brother can't trust my judgement.
And I don't even know if you can hear me but just being able to come here and talk to you about anything and everything. Well it has helped me a lot over the last two years. So, thank you for listening to me Peter Hale."
"You're welcome," answered Peter making my eyes snap open as I tried to wrench back into the chair only to be yanked forward and swiftly pinned under Peter Hale himself. "Though I do have to say that hearing your voice and being able to smell your scent everywhere inside my room here for the last two years has played a very large role in helping me regain my senses and sanity so thank you little wolf."
"You bit me," I said knowing he would smell and hear if I lied or gave a half-truth forcing me only to state the facts as I looked up into his burning crimson eyes as he gave me a fanged smile that had a shiver of foreboding run down my spine.
