The ride back to Hawk's house was painfully silent. He had decided to take her back to his house just to make sure she was safe. But despite caring for her greatly, he was seriously pissed off. (Y/n) too didn't want to talk to him. She looked down in her lap the whole way there. He too refused to make eye contact. He kept his eyes forward, focusing where he was going instead of her clutching onto his chest.
She had told the police everything. The text messages the photo of them at the hospital, everything. And as expected that didn't go down well with Hawks. He was infuriated that she had lied and kept secrets.
Eventually they arrived at his front door. The second they got on solid ground, (Y/n) jumped out of his arms and awkwardly waited for him to unlock the door. He opened it, being a gentleman and holding the door to let her in first. He slammed the door behind them, the noise making her turn around to look at him. They locked eyes both of them knowing what will come next.
Hawks rubbed his temples and walked over to her, looking deep into her eyes with an angry glare. "Why didn't you tell me?" He asked annoyed. "Oh what, I have to tell you everything? It's my life I can decide about what I tell you on my own." She complained. They weren't yelling but you could distinctly hear the anger in both of their voices. "It's your life that was being threatened! It's my job to protect you!"
"It's not your job to do anything! You're my boyfriend not my bodyguard! Is dating me a job to you?! Sorry am I making you work too hard? Hey maybe I could give you a vacation or you can just work weekends! Will that fit you schedule?!" She asked sarcastically. "I didn't mean it like that!"
"Well I it sounded like that!"
This wasn't what she wanted to say. (Y/n) didn't mean what was coming out of her mouth. It was just that he was yelling and couldn't help but get angry because of it. Hawks too regretted everything he was saying. He was mad but this was not the way he wanted the conversation to go. He was only saying this because he cared and the only reason she didn't tell him is because she cared about him and didn't want to burden her with his issues. Unfortunately neither of them could get that message across.
