Audrey's POV
Today was Monday and I have to go to work and then school at night. I'm lucky that Uni has night classes or I'd never finish school or even get my GCE's. I had to drop out for a while when Annabell was still a baby. Since then I got a job, bought a flat, and started back at school.
Obvioiusly I can't leave a three-year-old alone all day and most of the night, so I found a babysitter. She's only eight-teen, but she's very good at her job. Annabell absolutely adores her and I can trust her which is a big thing for me.
Annabell is all I have now. She's all I have left; my only family. Not long after she was born my parents had died. They went out to dinner for their anniversary and the restaurant caught on fire. Some people escaped, but they were two of many that got trapped inside.
I do have an older brother, but I haven't heard from him in a long time. He came back to Doncaster when Annabell was born and I haven't seen him since. I can understand why he doesn't come back though. It's the memories. The memories of us and our parents when they were alive. They're too much for him to handle so he moved away.
There's hardly any family for Annabell to be around and it makes me feel awful. Her grandparents died before she knew them, her uncle is never in contact with me, and her own father doesn't even know she exists. The saddest part is how she's such a sweet little girl. She has a big heart and always forgives everyone. I wish it didn't have to be this way for her sake.
The doorbell rang and Annabell raced to the the door, opening it in no time. A blonde haired girl with blue eyes and a smile plastered onto her face came into the flat. She scooped Annabell up in her arms and hugged her before setting her down on the floor.
"Mummy, Katie's here!" Annabell cheered gleefully as she jumped onto the couch next to me.
"Hello Katie. How are you?" I said greeting the girl as she closed the front door and came into the room.
"Hi Audrey. I'm fine, thanks. You?" she replied politely.
"I'm good, but I'm in a rush to get to work. If you need anything you have my number. Love you Annabell, have fun!" I said with a smile as I grabbed my car keys and my bag before heading out the door.
When I got to my work I practically jumped out of the car and bolted inside. I got my key card and cloked in right on time. Thank God.
"Audrey, you're here, good. Can you take section 3? I'm full and Steph isn't coming in today." My co-worker Sam asked as she entered an order.
"Yeah, sure." I said with a smile. More work equals more money and I could use as much money as I could get my hands on.
"Thank you so much!" she said relieved as she walked away.

I'd just pulled into the University parking lot and I was in a rush. As soon as I parked the car I pulled the emergency break up and took the keys out of the ignition. I hopped out of the car and opened the door to the back. It was 7:35 and I had to be in the classroom by 7:45. Ten minutes seems like no big deal to most people but those people have never been in this building. Doncaster College and University Centre is a big place and it's easy to get lost there.
I grabbed my bag from the back, but I guess the zipper wasn't zipped and all of my textbooks and notebooks fell out. Looking at all of the various books sprawled across the area, I sighed. This is just great.
"Hey, you're Audrey right?" a male voice called from behind me.
I turned around to see a dirty blonde haired boy that was on the football team coming up to me. "Uh yeah. You're Ryan, right?"
"That's my name. Do you need some help?" he asked glancing down at my mess of books on the ground.
"Oh this...yeah, but only if you want. I'm going to be late for class if I'm not there by 7:45." I said with a sigh.
"Then I'll help you out." he said adding a smile and crouching down to pick up my boks.
"Thank you. You really didn't have to."
"Well I had to find some way to talk to you. You're always in and out, I never get the chance."
"What? Why would the star football player want to talk to lame old me?" I asked quite amused.
"Because you're not lame, you're focused. And also because you're pretty and you seem nice. I was thinking maybe we could go out sometime....If you want to,I mean you don't have to say yes." he admitted.
"I'm reallly busy like all the time, I never get free time and when I do I need to spend it with Annabell. She'd be so lonely and upset."
"Who's Annabell?"
"Annabell is my daughter." I said putting the last book in my bag and throwing the bag over my shoulder.
"Oh wow, I didn't know. So then you have a boyfriend?"
"No, no I'm forever alone and I'm fine with it as long as I have my little girl."
"Where's her dad, if you don't mind me asking."
I chuckled slightly as I walked down the sidewalk to the building. "I don't know where he is, don't even know his name actually. It's awful really."
He followed me down the sidewalk. "Do you want to find him?"
"Well in a sense yes, but in another no. I want to find him for Annabell. The other day she drew a picture of two people holding hands and she said it was her and her daddy. The funny part is that it kind of looked like him, but it's also sad. She's never met him and he doesn't even know about her."
"That seems like a lot to take on. But you don't remember his face or anything?"
"Well I remember what he looks like, but that's all. Annabell thinks he's some internationally famous guy in that band One Direction. Her little friend Millie next door showed her pictures of them and now she's convinced."
"My little sister love them. She took my phone and set the background as a picture of the whole band."
"I've never even seen them before."
"Here, look at this picture." he held out his phone to me and I stopped at the entrance of the building to look at it.
"Oh my god. That's.....that's him...."

You guys seem to like this story and it was #219 on fan fiction and #513 in Teen Fiction! Wow.
A picture of Audrey is on the side if anyone is curious about her looks. Also I'd like to point out that I'm not a cliche writer so this won't be so predictable. Pay close attention(;
