Strangers
Here's the art of turning from everything to nothing, just strangers.
First, you love each other dearly, and it doesn't really matter what type of relationship it is, because spoilers alert: you'll get hurt all the same.
Second, your phone calls start to get less interesting filled with meaningless 'hmm's as a response and lots and lots of awkward beats of silence.
Third, you start to forget how their message notification sounds like.
The immediate reply to the texts you send turns into days with no response.
Fourth, the playful quarrels that always existed between you two turn into aggressive fights.
The simple 'sorry's that forced you two to forget the whole ordeal before now come out of your mouths a week too late, moreover, they're forced as hell, and you forget shit.
Fifth, distance.
Distant thoughts.
Distant eyes.
Simply, the two bodies sharing one soul before become now two distant ghosts, with lots of demons filling the ever growing gap.
Sixth, you'll see each other and wave with polite smiles. No 'WASSUP BITCH' anymore. No more.
Lastly, the intense pain you feel through it all,
Because it hurts, grieving the loss of someone that's still alive.
Like a muted sad song that hurts you still. It's on repeat in your mind even if you don't hear it.
The pain never ceases.
The song never stops.
And even though the sound waves never vibrate their way through the air, you can still feel them drumming in your ears.
