Chapter 7

As she opened the door and saw River's face her eyes started to become watery. Nina stepped back a few steps to let River in, he walked in and closed the door behind him. As River locked the door, Nina continued to stand in the hallway with tears under her eye lids as she tried to hold it in. "It's ok to cry if you want, don't hold it in," said River as he walked in front of Nina and hugged her.

As soon as Nina hugged him, she started to cry her eyes out. River guided her to her living room couch, as she cried. She cried for a few minutes while River sat beside her quietly and comforted her. Without a question of what had happen he continued to comfort her until she felt better.

"Ahh look at me, I'm a mess and I made you come all this way. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have." she apologized.

"No it's ok, you don't have say that. I would be here anytime you call me and need me. Do you want to talk about it; it might make you feel better."

She stayed silence while as she wrapped her arms around his left arm and she lay her head on his shoulder. She fought with herself on whether to tell River about Mickey or not. When she didn't answer, he said "Whatever it is you don't have to tell me, I know you don't want to tell me so I won't force you too."

"Oh...."

"Yeah it's ok. Are you fine now? Do you feel better after crying?"

"Yeah I feel much better, that stupid jerk better have a good explanation for this."

"Who's that jerk? Now you just made me curious about this person....it better not be me" he teased.

"Oh it's no one special, just a random jerk ass friend who pissed me off."

"I wonder if it's that guy, Mickey, I think. Should I be worried of him?" He playful teased her to make her smile.

She laughed and said, " Nope nothing to worry about. Not after the way he acted."

"Wait... What... Was there someone I had to worry about" he asked with a teased tone.

"Nope... Maybe... Well not anymore..."

"There you go I made you laugh and smile... It makes you beautiful"

"Hey are you calling me ugly?"

"No No, I'm just saying that you're always beautiful and would be even more beautiful if you smile." He said with a laugh.

"I know I know... I was just joking. I know that I am because you always tell me that and I can feel that you always meant it."

"Do you feel better now?"

"Yeah, to have you here now comforting me is such a great feeling."

River laughed as he agreed. "What time is it anyways?" She asked.

"Well when you called me it was one o'clock in the morning, let me see." He said as he grabbed his Samsung impact phone. "It's two twenty-eight."

"Wow it's that late. I spend an hour and twenty-eight minutes crying about that jerk."

"Yeah I guess..."

The looked on his face told her that he should head home now but before River could say anything, Nina said. "Oh no you not going home now, it's too late for you to be walking around. You're staying here and I don't want to hear any no from you."

"Hey don't get me wrong. I would love to stay here but what about your dad."

"Oh don't worry about my dad, he staying at one of his friend's house. They are working late so yeah..." She lied.

"Oh... Are you sure?"

"Yeah, it's ok. You can sleep in the guest room. Anyways this is our first sleepover," she teased as she got up and walked up stairs.

Without a choice, River quietly followed Nina upstairs. Nina stood in front of small closet beside her room, grabbed two olive green blankets and one white body towel. When she walked into the guest room, she placed the linens on top of the lazy boy queen side bed. As Nina turned around she bumped Into River and as a reflex River wrapped his arms around Nina. They stood still for a couple of minutes with only the sound of their breaths twine together. Nina felt so warm and cozy in his arms. When she felt his warm skin against her, she felt her sadness slowly float away.

"Umm... The towel is on top of the bed, if you want to take a shower. And you know where the bathroom." Nina said with a smile as he let go.

"Umm... Yeah sure, I'm just going to take a quick shower." He replied as they both blushed.

"Oh I still have some of Andrew's clothes from when he and Aria slept over once. You could borrow it for now. I'll go and get it," She said as she left the room and grabbed the clothes.

"Ok."

Nina went to her room and grabbed the clothes in her closet. She walked to the guest room and dropped the clothes on the bed then left. As she walked past the bathroom she heard the water splashed in the tub, she knocked on the door and heard the door unlock.

As soon as she saw River's head poked out from the door, she said "Umm I put the borrow clothes on the bed, unless you want me to bring it here?"

"Oh no, it's ok. You could leave it in the room."

"Ok. Well I'm going to be in my room, if you need me just give me a ring."

"Ok."
