"Hi" an unfamiliar voice greeted.

"Hi, what can I get you?" Levi replied in the neutral voice he always used on customers.

He was now working the first shift at Starbucks as Lorenzo strictly permitted him from working until night-time at least for the first couple of weeks. Levi understood his concern but he couldn't always ask his co-workers to switch and he sometimes had afternoon lessons too. It's cute how much he worries about me though, Levi thought while smiling slightly.

"Do you always space out like that while serving customers?"

Levi blushed a little in embarrassment "No, I am sorry" and went back to prepare his order. He tried his best to get a grip but he couldn't deny how happy he felt with how things turned out with Lorenzo. Acting nonchalant now really turned out to be a challenge as his confession kept repeating in his head. "Snap out of it Levi", he said to himself as he slapped his face. "Here you go an Iced Latte Macchiato. What is your name?" he asked playing with the pencil between his fingers.

"So, you don't recognise me, huh? I guess my voice did change quite a lot".

"Sorry sir, I don't think we've met before", somehow after everything that happened to him Levi couldn't help but feel a little scared of the man standing right in front of him. Lorenzo warned him that they could attack him at any given moment which he didn't really take seriously at the time.

"Oh, I can assure you we did. I bet you didn't want to meet me again though, brother. It's me Liam"

Levi gasped a little not sure how to react. They lost contact when he abruptly left his home five years ago but he never forgot about him he was his brother after all. "What? I'm sorry, you indeed sound very different from how I remember. Would you mind waiting for me at one of the tables, my shift ends in about ten minutes. There must be a lot you want to talk about"

Liam just hummed in response.

.......

"So how have you been?" Levi began rather unsure how to start this conversation.

"Let's just cut to the chase. We don't have to start acting like brothers now. Anyway, mother's dead. I obviously can't afford the funeral on my own so at least pay your part", he explained rather coldly.

"How did she die?" Levi honestly couldn't care less about her. She didn't deserve to be called his mother in the first place.

"The kind of death you'd expect from an alcoholic like her, I guess", Levi laughed a little at that. "A pathetic woman, wasn't she? Losing all the men in her life and ending up just like everyone anticipated", Liam tried to appear as emotionless as possible but Levi knew very well that he loved her more than anyone. He tried to stop her from drinking. Always hiding her bottles away like an idiot.

"What do you mean, weren't you with her?" as far as Levi was concerned their mother doted on Liam so much, they should have been no reason for him to leave.

"She went bat-shit crazy after you left. She didn't even recognise me anymore so they put me into foster care and her into rehab"

Levi couldn't believe it he was sure everything would be alright if he left. "Did she hit you?"

Liam stayed quiet for a few seconds

"Omg, I'm so-".

" Cut the act. You don't have to start feeling guilty now. It's long overdue" he interrupted Levi raising his voice a little.

"Whatever it doesn't matter anymore. Just give me your phone so I can send you the financial details later", he said sternly as he stood up.

"Wait, I don't want it to end like this. Let me at least explain", Levi rushed out.
