Chapter Eleven:

Marcus and I get in my car and Marcus starts driving to Mason's house. I don't know why Ronnie left Lily to drive by herself but, he probably wouldn't tell me anyway.

He's so stubborn.

As we drive to Mason's house Marcus notices that I'm feeling anxious and places his hand on my thigh. I look over at him, my face turning red and he smiles at me and moves his hand up a little bit further. I look back out the window to try and keep my thought out of the gutter and soon enough we arrive at Mason's house.

We get out of my car and Marcus knocks on Mason's door. Marcus and I hear footsteps and then Mason opens the door.

"Hey, what are you doing here?" Mason asks curiously.

"We were just gonna pick you up because everyone is hanging out at Ronnie's house and he wanted us to come get you." Marcus says.

"Oh nice, I'm going to grab my things real quick. One second." Mason says as he heads back into his house.
Marcus and I go back to the car and wait for him.

"Should we tell him why we're really picking him up?" I ask Marcus.

"Maybe a little bit later because he might freak out about the fact that both Riley and George are dead." Marcus says. "And the fact that neither we nor the police know who the killer is or what their plans are."

"Yeah that's true."

Mason gets in the car and we start to drive back to Ronnie's house and about halfway there I get a call from Lily.

I immediately answer with a sigh of relief.

She's okay.

"Hey, is everything alright? We heard gunshots earlier and Ronnie said that it was nothing." I question. "What really happened Lily?"

"I'll explain it when I see you. Are you still at Ronnie's?" Lily asks.

"No, Marcus and I went to Mason's house and got him." I answer. "Ronnie said you were getting Jamal and said we should get Mason."

"Okay good, don't go back to Ronnie's see if you can go back to Mason's or go to Marcus' just don't go back to Ronnie's house." Lily says sternly.

"Okay? Why can't we go back?" I ask.

"Just trust me okay?" Lily replied.

"Okay." I said in return.

And then Lily ends the call.

I look over at Marcus and then at Mason.

"What do we do now?" I ask them. "We can't go back to Ronnie's for whatever reason and pretty much everybody else's house is a crime scene."

"Well we can either go to my house, go back to Mason's or, just stay parked here."

I start to think about what to do when I hear someone knocking on the window. I jump back a bit and realize it was Lily.

"Oh hey, I'm glad you're okay." I say as she gets out of the car. "What happened back at Ronnie's house?"

"Everything was fine at first. We were talking about what we were going to do when we found the killer and then he revealed that...it was him. He had enough of Steph's bullshit and was going to go to her house one night. And when he got there...Toby was already there."

My eyes widen as the words leave her mouth. What was Toby doing at Stephaine's house and did he help Ronnie kill Stephaine? Was he going to hurt Lily too? All I know is that I should have gone with her and that Ronnie and Toby are going to regret everything.
