Chapter 13

It's Saturday at 5 p.m, and I'm in Terrence's car again. He drove the same 2019 SUV to the homecoming. I thought maybe I should give him another chance and see maybe he isn't like what some people think he is. Only because he approached himself a little differently. Some say he is a womanizer and that he likes to have more than one girl at a time. Kaylaa and Kiesha even said the same thing. They also added that he could be very egoistic of himself. I remembered at lunch that sometimes this week, Kaylaa told me that she went out on a date with him one time. She said it wasn't very, pleasant because all he did was show off his selfish character. He mentioned that he knew that he and Kaylaa would become a power couple of the school due to his charming looks and great athletics in football. Not only did she tell me that, but she also said that he is a male chauvinist and a bit of a colorist as well. I looked at her sideways when I asked her what she meant by that and then that's when I didn't ask any further.

I'm not one hundred percent sure if those types of characteristics are true because honestly, I wanted to go see for myself. Plus it was 2 years ago when they went out on that date. He might be different now. The way he acted at Homecoming was unacceptable but I still accepted his offer because maybe he is sorry for his actions. The ego character is kinda right, but that doesn't mean he is like that all of the time. Or does he?

Today, I'm wearing my naturally curly hair out, a black v-neck top with some ripped jeans and black sneakers. Terrence is wearing a white half- turtleneck sweater shirt with jeans. His shoe choice today was black Chelsea boots, which are in a faux shade design. Those are expensive.

He drove us to the AMC theater right across from Ford City Mall. We both walked into the place and he asked the cashier what's playing in the theaters. 7 movies were playing; Avengers, Spider-Man, Joker, Lion King live-action, It Chapter 2, and a newer Godzilla movie. Terrence looked at me in suggestion and I told him I would rather see Avengers. He nodded and paid for the tickets, then we went to fully walk inside the theater with a huge space leaving some walking space from the concession stand to the theaters.

As we slowly walked, I looked at my ticket to see which theater we are in, which is theater 5.

"Like anything to eat?"

"Nothing but a soda and some sour patches. I want to have a little light stomach after the movies," I tell him as he nods and he walks over to the concession stand and buys two of the same drinks along with getting himself the medium-size popcorn. I suspect that he wants me to share the popcorn with him though. The medium sizes of anything today are a large size.

We got our snacks, and we walked into theater 5 pretty early to catch some of the trailers before the actual movie starts. We walk down the aisle to sit in the center section of the theater. There were only very few people in the theater so far, so it was still enough time for us to sit and talk for a bit.

I sat down in my comfortable seat that I could recline if I wanted to, and put my drink in the cup holder opposite where Terrence was sitting. I opened my bag of Sour Patch Kids and popped a few pieces in my mouth.

"Excited for the movie?" Terrence asked, taking a few bites of his popcorn.

"A little. I know it's been such a big topic in the news. I'm wondering how they will get half of the members back."

"Well from what I remember reading from the comics that they will use time travel to get the stones back and stop Thanos from wiping out everyone."

"You read comics too?"

"Yeah. I have to admit I'm a bit of a comic nerd. But I'm more of an anime nerd myself."

"Really?" I was surprised. "I like comic books too. But I don't own a collection myself."
