Chapter 19Kaylaa POV
Christmas Break is over and it's officially the new year. I haven't heard from Prince all Winter break. I spent most of my break worrying about him. I kept myself distracted by either doing my homework or writing out some new cheer routines for the team. However, in the midst of writing, I couldn't help but keep thinking about him. My mother told me to give it some more time.
I walk inside the school's quad looking for Prince. He was still nowhere to be seen; not even around our friends' group. I sigh and turn halfway around before one of them calls my name.
Latasha walks over, "Hey girl. You okay?"
I guess she noticed the disappointed look on my face.
"Not really," I admitted. "Have you seen Prince?"
She shook her head no, "No, Mike mentioned he didn't show up for practice this morning. What's wrong?"
"I wish I could tell you, but it's a long story that should be spoken privately."
She nods in understanding as people rush their way through the revolving doors to come inside the building.
"We can talk tonight,"
"Cool. I'll see you later," I said and went inside the building to stand in the big lobby to take off my coat, hat, and scarf.
After I got my outerwear off, I went to my locker to hang them up and change my shoes. I then start to look around for Prince. Still no sign of him yet, so I went to get in line to grab a bag of breakfast.
I went back to look for him again. I this time choose to stand against the lockers waiting for him to walk past to go to his advisory.
Mike walks to me after she grabs his breakfast.
"No sign of him?"
"No, I even looked downstairs, and still no sign."
"He's probably running late. I'll sneak a text to let him know he's around," he suggested.
"Thanks," I dab him and then walk away. It was just about 2 minutes to get to my advisory. I hope Prince shows up to school. I just want to see if he is okay.
I walk inside my room when the bell rings. I took my seat at my desk and patiently waited for a text from Mike.
What was on my breakfast bag was packaged, a bowl of dry cereal, a white cheese stick, and an apple. I don't know why they gave us white cheese sticks. I guess they need to get rid of them.
It's already been five minutes, and I got Mike's text saying that he still did not show up.
I sigh as I blankly stare across the floor. Then I sneakily put my iPhone back into my bookbag.
Later in the day.
School is over as the bell rings with students crowding the halls.
Afterwards, I put on my coat, boots, and hat. I walk outside to the quad, and then I walk to the bench tables where Mike, Tasha, and Kiesha are.
"Hey, so I'm guessing Prince didn't show up to school all day."
They shook their heads no.
"I've texted him, but I got no response from him all day really," Michael mentions.
