"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Kelly and Alice yell as I open the door to my flat.

"Thanks." I say glumly. I returned back home after watching the movies with Connor. I did not want to do anything for my birthday, yet it seems everyone else wants me to do something.

"Oh come on Violet! You're 18! Be happy!" Alice says as they follow me into my apartment.

"Ooo yay! I'm 18! I get to spend another year being miserable and watching everyone around me be so happy!" I say sarcastically. Kelly and Alice flinch. "Look I'm sorry, I'm just in a bad mood." I sit on my bed with my head in my hands.

"Why?" Kelly sits down next to me.

"Felix blew off my date to hook up with Velvet and I spent the night feeling like total shit because my best friend's boyfriend treats me better than mine did to me." I tell them.

"Wait, wait, wait. Felix and Velvet?" Alice asks and I nod. "I should have known. I saw them together yesterday afternoon. She said she was helping him pick out a present for you." I fall back onto my bed.

"Don't let them ruin your birthday Violet! Come on, Alice and I are going to take you out." Kelly pulls on my arm, forcing me to sit up.

"I don't feel like doing anything though." I groan as she and Alice pull me up and start pushing me to the bathroom.

"Too bad, we've already made plans." Alice pushes me into the bathroom. I should of guessed that considering they were both wearing dresses.

"There is not worth fighting it Vi." Kelly says before I can say anything else. "We'll pick you out an outfit. You just clean yourself up."

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Alice, Kelly and I walk down the street to I'm not sure where. "Where exactly are we going?" I ask again.

"Not telling!" Alice sings once again making me groan.

"You know, not telling me isn't helping with the feeling miserable thing right?"

"Well we're here now so you can be happy." Kelly smiles as we stop outside my favourite restaurant, which I haven't been to since I moved out of my parents as the prices weren't for the poor.

"Okay, I do feel a little happier considering you two put thought into this. It feels nice to be cared about."

"Oh honey, more people than just us care about you." Alice says as we walk in, the place being oddly empty...

"SURPRISE!" I jump as everyone in the whole restaurant springs out of their hiding places.

"See." Alice says giving me a hug.

"Did you two do this?" I force a smile, happy about the gesture meant to please me yet still feeling sad about yesterday's events.

"Well we can't take full claim, those four boys and Katelyn helped." Kelly points over to Connor, Brad, James, Tristan and Katelyn who were walking over.

"Happy birthday Violet!" the boys say as they crowd around me giving me a group hug.

"Thank you." I say. And that's how majority of the evening went, people came over to me to wish me a happy birthday with which I would reply thank you. There were people who I hadn't seen in ages like my grandparents and cousins. It was a little hard to handle. My life had changed so much in the past year without seeing them.

"Happy birthday." Dean comes over to give me a hug. "I don't mean to be rude but have you seen Velvet here tonight, she hasn't replied to any of my texts." I look down, realising that Dean yet has to go through what I am. It'll be worst for him, considering he actually loves Velvet and I never loved Felix.

"I'm sorry." I say, trying not to cry.

"What for?"

I take a deep breath. "Velvet's cheating with Felix." Dean's smile fades.

"W-what?"

"I saw them making out last night when I went to see why he hadn't turned up for our date, and Alice saw them together yesterday as well."

"Oh."

"I'm sorry."

"It's not your fault." Dean gives me a hug. "If you don't mind I think I'll head home now. I need to think about, well, everything really."

"I wish I could leave too." I mumble.

"Please, do try enjoy yourself, don't let it ruin your birthday." Dean says before walking off. I try to gather my thoughts but then I hear the bell of the door ring and look, expecting to see Dean leaving.

Instead I see Felix.

I quickly make my way to the girl's bathroom. Well this is going to be a long night. How am I supposed to keep it together and not dump is cheating ass in front of all my friends and family? The door to the bathroom's open and just the person who I didn't want to see, even more than Felix walks in.

Velvet.

"Hey, there you are! I was looking all over for you! Happy birthda-" I slap her.

"You bitch!" I scream, all my anger and sadness finally coming loose. "I thought we were friends!"

"What are you going on about?!" she holds her hand to her cheek, looking bewildered with me.

"As if you don't know! I saw you, with my own eyes. You cheated on Dean! With MY boyfriend!" I scream yet again at her. I look of realisation comes over her face.

"It wasn't supposed to happen." she mumbles.

"Oh, so you just forgot that you had a boyfriend and you just forgot that the person you were cheating with was my boyfriend?!"

"It's not like you loved him anyway!" Velvet yells back.

"That doesn't mean it wouldn't hurt me either way!"

"Hey what's going on in here?!" Katelyn walks in.

"I'll tell you what's going on, this little bitch had been fucking my boyfriend!" I point at Velvet who looks down guiltily.

"Oh so that's why you've been making a move on my boyfriend?"

"Excuse me?"

"Connor told me how you two watched movies together last night."

"Oh come on Katelyn. We've been over this." I groan.

"Yeah and it's obvious you've been lying to me. Our relationship has been so strained ever since I started dating Connor. Even though you say you don't like him it's obvious you do!" I walk out of the bathroom.

"Hey." Felix says as I walk past him and towards the door.

"We're through." I say as I walk out the door and in the direction of my apartment.
