You know you've almost hit rock bottom when you don't want to spend time with your best friend...
Katelyn and I walk around the mall going in and out of different shops. It seemed pretty pointless to me since I couldn't afford to buy any of the things we were looking at. We walk into Hot Topic (a clothing shop which when it opened in New Zealand the line waiting to get in went down the street, same thing happened when NZ went through a chocolate milk faze... Google it XD). "Oooo this is cute." Katelyn holds it up and shows me. It was a Deathly Hallows shirt, one that I didn't own. "This would look so cute on you! And these jeans go with it as well!" she grabs a pair of black skinny jeans and hands the two clothing items to me. "Try them on!"
"I won't be able to afford them either way." I point out, looking at the price tags.
"I'll buy them for you, my treat." Katelyn states. Unlike me, she was loaded with money.
"I can't let you do that."
"Consider it an early birthday present. Now, go!" I give in, knowing nothing good will come out of me continuously denying the offer. Katelyn always seemed to get her way. I quickly get changed into the clothes and come out to show her. "Perfect!" I roll my eyes at her, smiling. This wasn't going so bad.
"I think I might cut some holes in these jeans though."
"Trying to be punk rock are we now?" we laugh and I go back into the changing room, putting back on my original clothes; my black yoga pants and white singlet. When I come out I see Katelyn frowning, deep in thought.
"What's wrong?" I ask.
"Oh, nothing. Let's go get some lunch." she smiles and, once we brought my clothes, headed off to a local sushi shop. Katelyn was very quite during lunch, which meant something was up. She was only quite when she was deep in thought.
"Okay, seriously. I'm your best friend. I know something is bothering you."
"It's something really stupid." she grimaces.
"It can't be that stupid if it's bothering you."
"Okay, when are you hanging out with Connor?"
"Uh I don't know. We haven't arranged anything yet... Why?"
"Because I'm worried that you're gonna try take him from me." my mouth falls open in surprise. "I know it's stupid! You would never do that! But it's just the fact that you used to be practically in love with him and-"
"Katelyn." I cut her off, not needing to be reminded that I was in love with my best friend's boyfriend. "Like I said, I'm your best friend. But Connor is also my best friend. And may I remind you that I'm happily in a relationship." Half true.
"I'm sorry."
"It's fine. Let's just forget this never happened and continue being BFFs."

A/N: WHILE I WAS WRITING THIS THE VAMPS CAME ON THE RADIO AND I HAD TO TAKE A BREAK TO SING WAY OUT OF TUNE TO IT :D

Legit on the first day my English teacher was like: "BTW y'all have an internal exam due in next Friday and it can't be on a young adult book." Like, what the heck?! All I basically read is young adult and fanfic!
