You drove the van to the motel, your bestie sleeping noisily next to you and you and his younger brother snoring next to him.
You decided to drive so Marco could have a break from all the driving he was doing. You expected the blond to insist next to you, but instead he opted to sit in the back. It bothered you a little at first, but you figured he just wanted a chance to stretch out.
It did however irk you how he was whispering to Robin throughout the whole drive. You knew that Marco wasn't into the ravenette and vice versa, but it still rubbed on your nerves at how close the two were.
Get ahold of yourself, your close with Ace and would never date the freckled goon. Marco can whisper to whoever he wants.
Still seeing the two whisper secrets was nerve racking to you. Robin was beautiful after all, any guy would fall for her. Ace even mentioned how he'd like to get with her once. So to say you were worried was an understatement.
You pulled off of the highway going down the road that led to the motel. It was a bumpy ride, waking up Ace as he knocked into you.
"Hey, you alright? You don't look so good." Ace pointed out as he took in your features. Your brows were so pinched together that they almost looked like one brow, there was a sheen of sweat on your forehead and your hands were clenched tightly around the steering wheel.
"I'll explain later." You quickly whispered to your friend. You were focusing on not driving into all the potholes that the road suddenly had. It was like ko onw bothered to fix them.
Those sitting in the back got jostled into each other, and unfortunately Robin ended up landing on top of Marco, something them at irritated you even more.
"Just try not to kill us before then." Ace said as he grasped onto to the dashboard trying to steady himself.
You managed to get to the motel without killing anybody, the pink monstrosity standing tall before your tiny van. Funnily enough you thought that the van matched the hotel perfectly.
The hotel was only three stories high but very long, there was no other buildings in sight. You guys were literally in the middle of nowhere. There was only a few trees dotting the area and you even saw a tumble weed rolling around in the wind.
Your group took there time getting out of the van and making their way into the motel. The whole time Marco was still avoiding you for some reason, it really hurt you. You couldn't understand why he was avoiding you, as far as you knew you didn't do anything wrong.
"You wanna take a nap or something yoi?" Marcobasked as he got section the bed. Originally you were supposed to share a room with Robin, but since you and Marco were dating now the two of you were sharing a room. But since Marco had been avoiding you most of the day you just felt awkward around him.
"Actually I was gonna go hangout with Ace. See how's he doing, yah know?" You plopped your bag down into a corner of the room.
"Oh, okay. Have fun yoi." Marco huffed as he plopped himself down onto the bed. You didn't say anything else and just existed the room, making your way down the hall to room your friend was staying in.
You knocked on the door waiting for your friend to answer. Normally you'd just let yourself in, but since the model's door locked automatically behind themselves you had to wait until your friend let you in. You only waited outside the door for a second before it opened, your freckled friend smiling down at you.
Of course his smile morphed into a frown when he saw your anxious state.
"What's wrong?" Ace asked you as he led you into the room. You made yourself comfortable on the bed, your fingers digging into the sheets.
"I'm not entirely sure... but I think Marco's upset with me." You whispered a few tears slipping from your eyes. You didn't know why you were crying, maybe since your relationship with Marco was new it just hurt more.
"What? Why would Marcobbe mad with you? You've literally done nothing wrong. Although I don't think you could do anything wrong." Ace thought as he rubbed his chin with his thumb and pointer finger. He looked liked a professor thinking over something dumb his student said in this moment. You would have laughed but you just felt too worried to do so.
Is Marco thinking that us dating is the wrong thing? Does he just want to be friends? What did he have sex with me then?
For you having sex was only something you did when you were really into the person. You found you couldn't get off unless you had emotional connection with the person. Which is what you thought you had with Marco. Maybe you were wrong?
"I don't know. Everyt6was fine at Vivi's place, but once we left he's been avoiding me." You complained to your friend. You knew you could tell anything to Ace and that he wouldn't tell his older brother. What was said between you two stayed private.
"Yeah I found it a little odd when he didn't sit next to you in the van. I think you two just need to talk to each other. I know Marco always wears a bored expression on his face, but that doesn't mean he doesn't worry about stuff." Ace explained he sat down next to you, giving you an encouraging hug.
"Your probably right. But can I hangout with you for a bit?" You returned the hug, you felt you haven't spent much time with your friend on this trip. In Sabaody you cut your arm open, in Thriller Bark you finally started dating Marco, and in Alabasta Ace was passed out for most of the time. So you really haven't spent much time with your bestie.
"For sure, you don't need to ask you know." Ace flopped back onto the bed, he reached towards the remote his fingers barely reaching the device.
