Chapter 5 || Decisions Have To Be Made

I waited until they had gone before I leaped out of the fire and continued celebrating, drinking exotic drinks and eating exotic foods. Things were great. That's when they had to have forgotten something and came back.

"There he is!" 'Talon' pointed at me.

"You guys never go away, do you?" I chuckled, letting them get close. "You know you'll never be able to contain me... not even for a second. So just tell me what you want and we'll discuss options. Deal?"

"Fine," Chaos sighed, "But you already know why we're here. We want you to join our army."

"And I already told you a million times I don't want to."

"But there's no reason you shouldn't!"

"Yes, there is. I've seen people get torn apart in front of my face from the age of twelve. Do you think I want to see that at the age of 746?"

"Uhm... you're an assassin," Talon raised his hand.

"Talon!" Fang hissed.

"Yeah... but war? I've done too many of those for a lifetime."

"Well... just consider it. If you say yes, just meet us at my palace anytime."

And with that, Chaos and his army were gone.

I ran into the Chaos palace, slowly walking along the ceiling. Yep. The ceiling. I spotted the Chaos members down below, having a meeting.

"We can't just kidnap him! He's an assassin. Assassins kill people, Talon."

"He'd either just escape, or murder us all," Huntress added.

"Yeah," Flame agreed.

"Ugh!" Chaos groaned, "He's so--"

I jumped down.

"--So awesome, talented, handsome, full of LIFE, and so cunning. I know, I know."

"What the--" Flame started but Heart cut him off.

"Did you just fall from the sky?"

"The ceiling to be precise. You need to fix a tile. Third to the right up five tiles? Yep. It's cracked and I don't think me stepping on it helped."

"You can walk on ceilings?" Talon asked.

"Yep."

"Man... I wanna marry your skills!"

"Yeah... no thanks. So... this... army thing."

"Please join," Chaos immediately said.

"Well..."

I decided to keep them in suspense, smirking at their curious faces. It was quiet for a good minute before Talon exploded.

"OH JUST TELL US THE F**KING ANSWER FOR F**KING GOODNESS SAKE!"

"Wow," I chuckled, "Someone's gotten a little feisty, eh? Fine. I'll join."

"YES!"

"But," I said, "You have to tell me who you are because I have some serious trust issues at this stage of my life."

"Go on," Chaos said and the first person to unmask was Talon.

"I'm Talon, Commander of Section 2, but my real name is Luke Castellan."
