ANNABETH CHASE
"Where's Percy?!" I heard a yell and I raced out of my cabin to see Sally Jackson-Blofis racing into camp with a basket of blue cookies and furious eyes.
The Chaos cabin opened their door and out stepped Luke, who met Sally's gaze evenly.
"W-Who are you?" Sally asked, clearly confused.
"Luke, commander of Section 2 in the Chaos Army. You wish to see our commander?"
"Commander? No, I want to see my son, Percy Jack--" she started but I ran over.
"Annabeth," she sighed in relief when she met someone she recognized.
I guess Luke just looked so different now that... now that he was with them. Chaos.
"Sally, I need you to listen to me. Percy isn't Percy anymore. He's changed."
"And how much can a baby boy change, Annabeth?" Sally whispered, "He's my son."
"He's not Percy," I stared into her ocean blue eyes.
"W-What are you saying?" Sally's eyes darted back and forth between mine.
"Percy escaped off the face of Earth, Sally. I don't know who told you he's back, but he's not the same anymore. Percy became a deadly assassin out there."
"And?" Sally pressed, clearly wanting to know what had happened.
"He didn't just become a deadly assassin. He became Thalost, the deadly assassin."
"And? What happened to my boy?" Sally asked.
"You betrayed him," Luke reminded, stepping forward, obviously having heard our conversation.
"Who are you? No one knew Percy named Luke unless you're..." Sally trailed off, looking straight into Luke's clear blue eyes. "You're Luke Castellan?"
"Yes, ma'am. But I'm afraid you're thinking of P--Thalost."
"Percy changed his name, Sally. He doesn't like being called P--"
"Don't you dare say it," Luke warned me, "He can hear you even if you were miles away in space."
"What do you mean?" Sally asked, looking at Luke.
"Sally, he's a primordial," I sighed, "The son of--"
"--a bitch, yeah," I heard a familiar, sassy voice, and turned to see Percy Jackson, standing there, covered in blood, twirling a dagger in between both of his fingers.
"Percy," Sally gasped.
"Sally," he greeted coldly, "What are you doing here?"
"I came... I came to deliver these," Sally said, tears in her eyes, "I... I..."
Percy nodded in appreciation.
"Your cookies will be appreciated..." Percy trailed off, not sure what to say. "I will warn you, though. This camp is being attacked by monsters day and night... so I suggest you stay clear of it to avoid any casualties of mortals, okay?"
Sally's mouth opened as if to say something, but she closed it right away.
"Yes... Thalost," she struggled to get the word out before running off to the hill.
The moment she left, Percy looked away from the spot she'd just been in with a look I'd never seen on his face since the day he came here. Sadness. Regret. But as quickly as it came, it went away as if I had just imagined it. I walked back into my cabin.
