PERCY JACKSON
"How are we on numbers?" I panted to Luke, who was currently gulping down some nectar to help with a slash on his back.
"Not too bad at all," he said, "The campers are holding up well!"
He stood up, stretching.
"Should we go show them how the party starts for real?" Luke smirked.
"Hit it Lukey Boy!"
We both charged into battle, swinging with our weapons like they were piñata bats. And the monsters? Oh... the monsters were our candies.
"F**K YOU!" Luke yelled and Zoë rolled her eyes from where she was, perched on the roof with her silver arrows, killing the monsters.
Suddenly, a familiar sword clashed against mine. I saw Parker, his ice blue eyes glinting.
"Here's what you get, traitor!" he growled, swinging his sword down.
Lucy took Luke, stabbing as hard as she could.
"I had no choice, Parker!" I jumped, avoiding his strike. "I was there to spy anyways!"
"But you're still a traitor!" Parker yelled, hacking as hard as he could.
"And Order still doesn't care about life! I think we're on the same page!" I yelled, managing to fling him over across the battlefield, where he lay, groaning. Luke and I both knocked Lucy out cold, throwing her so she smashed Parker.
We both jumped back into the fight. That's when I saw Annabeth with her back turned to a monster, fighting another. F**k. For some reason, I lurched forward, but I knew it would be too late. I wouldn't be able to save the one person I loved. So I yelled her name.
"ANNABETH!"
She whipped around just as the monster leaped. Everything went in slow motion. I was standing there in the middle of the battlefield, watching my wise girl about to be ripped to shreds by a monster. And it was like I couldn't move. No matter how hard I tried. I was stuck to the floor. Then, a force barreled into her so fast I couldn't see it.
Annabeth fell to the floor, glancing at her savior, who was on the floor, blood pooling around her. I managed to unfreeze myself and killed the monster, Annabeth killing the one she was previously killing.
"Quick!" I said, dragging her over to the sidelines, where I turned her over.
To my horror, I was met with orange eyes and brown princess curls, soaked with blood.
"Hannah..." I whispered.
"P-Percy..." she choked as blood ran from the corner of her mouth.
Her eyes were wide with pain.
"Hannah..." I gulped, "Stay with us. Please."
"No," she shook her head, eyes gleaming with determination, "I've done enough. And I deserve this. It's my price to make up for what I did alongside Order, no matter how long. I am still part of godly heritage and I fought for my mother today. I hope Athena loves me again."
She took a deep ragged breath and began to cough violently.
"Stop talking. You're only killing yourself faster... The medics will arrive soon, Hannah. They'll be here quickly!" I said, panicked that she was going to die.
She didn't listen.
"Percy," she gasped, "Remember what you told me? That... it's never too... late... to go back... It helped me make the right... decision... in my... life... Remember that... Don't let it... lose it's... meaning."
"No... Hannah, no..." I whispered, the tears seeming to freeze in my eyes as I stared at her body.
Hannah's warm orange eyes stared at me, then looked to Annabeth, before coming back to me.
"I'll never stop loving you, Percy... May my love shield you... from... all evil." She took a shallow, ragged, uneven breath. "I think... I think... you know... what... to... do..." she said, looking at me with fierce orange eyes.
Tears leaked out of them, spilling into her blood. She was crying. She feebly moved a hand and held mine. She then addressed Annabeth.
"Annabeth," she gasped, "I don't... I don't know you well... but... you're a lucky... girl. L-Love... Love him... For me..."
Hannah then licked her lips, staring into my eyes. Orange to sea-green for the last time.
"Kiss... me?" she choked, "One... last... time?"
"Hannah..." I felt a single tear drop onto her face.
But I obeyed. I pressed my lips to hers and tasted the mango behind her blood for the last time. When I pulled away, she stared into my eyes for a good two seconds, smiling, before the light left her eyes and her whole body went limp. I could only stare in horror before that horror was replaced by rage. Rage that Hannah had to die. Rage that Order was so foolish she'd think hiding while her most 'trusted' member of her army was dying would save her.
So I stood up, sword ready, pants and shoes soaked with blood, adrenaline pulsing. I was ready to face this bitch that I called my aunt.
ANNABETH CHASE
I stared at Hannah's dead body and even if she kissed Percy... I didn't feel bad. She treated him right. Not like me.
It's never too late to go back... her words echoed in my mind.
Then, the storm.
"ORDER! HANNAH DIED! YOUR MOST TRUSTFUL COMMANDER! THE ONE WHO STUCK WITH YOU FROM THE BEGINNING! AND YOU'RE HIDING. HIDING FROM WHAT, ORDER?! FROM WHAT?! IF YOU WANT TO KILL ME SO BADLY, WHY DON'T YOU JUST COME DOWN AND DO IT BEFORE MORE PEOPLE DIE?! I DON'T CARE IF I LIVE! BUT IF YOU'RE GONNA KILL INNOCENT PEOPLE... F**K THAT. YOUR 'SO CALLED' FRIENDS MIGHT DIE... YOU'RE A MONSTER!" Percy was shouting into the sky.
We all stopped and stared at him in shock. I mean... I knew he was impertinent but... this impertinent? This seaweed brain was about to get himself killed! But then, I looked in his eyes. There was pure fury raging in those sea-green orbs. The seas churned, the earth cracked, the winds blew fiercer and colder. There was fire lit on his wings, which had involuntarily popped out.
When nothing happened, Percy just got madder. Everything shook and Percy's voice dripped with pure anger.
"ORDER SHOW YOURSELF! SHOW YOURSELF YOU BITCH!"
That's when a hole opened in the sky, and there entered Order, dressed in all black. She had an evil smirk playing on her face.
"That's not a very nice thing to say... is it?"
