PERCY JACKSON

I've been traveling across the world for a year trying to find the temple. Following maps. If you didn't know, the powers I needed to inherit to survive in space and the only temple that you can ascend up into space from is the Temple of Chaos. And that was destroyed millions of years ago. So, I was trying to find a destroyed temple that apparently leads me up into space.

Now, I was here at the very last stop.

"Please... let this be it," I sighed, brushing the dust away from my forehead.

I walked inside and stared at all the rubble. I had my sword at my side. I called out an ancient chant while holding up the golden orb, which was apparently the key.

"Ω πανίσχυρο Λόρδο Χάος, Επιτρέψτε μου να ανέβω στο σύμπαν. Δώσε μου δεξιότητες και όπλα για να υπερασπιστώ τον εαυτό μου και το σύμπαν σας, καθώς και οι άνθρωποι. Ω δυναμικό χάος, άκου την προσευχή μου."

And that's when I felt something around me and I was in a different room. The ball was gone. I could see weapons lining the walls and a glowing orb of light. I knew this was it. I approached the orb of light. And the orb of light was submerged in me. I could feel the powers of all Olympians--well, the ones that I liked--flowing through me.

Hades. Shadow-traveling. Hestia. The power to make any home item appear and flame travel. Apollo. Extreme charm. Artemis. Archery. And... Aphrodite. Shape-shifting into a bird. That was actually pretty odd because Aphrodite couldn't shape-change into a bird... Then, partial immortality. That felt awful.

I collapsed on the floor and when I got back up, the weapons were coming towards me. They stabbed into my belt, therefore, rightfully belonging to me. I saw two swords, gleaming a metallic blue and a metallic purple undertone. One was named Killer, the other named A-sass-in(get it? no?). Fitting names. I saw a band, which turned out to be a bow and arrow in disguise. Daggers, throwing knives, a compact spear, and finally, I was one step to the end.

"I am Thalost," I said aloud before I finally felt complete.

With that, I was let out of the temple. I had to say goodbye to one person first.

This place brought back memories. The lazy doorman who didn't like his job, the elevator that always played old music that brought your ears down in a hissy fit... everything was the way it was when I was young.

And didn't know what betrayal felt like.

I walked over to where my mom's apartment was and knocked three times. The door opened and I saw my mother. Standing there in all her grace.

"Hey... Hey, Mom," I said as strongly as I could, though I wanted to break down in her arms with my head in her lap as she stroked my hair and told me it was all gonna be okay.

Even if it wasn't gonna be okay.

"Hello, Percy."

Now that wasn't the greeting I was looking for. She seemed a little bit worried and hesitant to even open the door a bit more. Then, I heard it.
