PERCY JACKSON

I was falling. But this time, not like when I was with... Annabeth, I was falling alone. No one there to help me. And no one there to guide me. I was by myself. My heart pounded but I knew I was going to stay safe. I had to. For Chaos. For my family. I put up my mind blocker on those memories, only pushing the ones of heartbreak to the front, even altering a fake one to put at front, just in case Order were to read my mind.

I wasn't that stupid.

I finally landed just where I wanted to land. In front of Order. Her appearance shocked me. She was actually pretty. She had long, flowing, ebony hair and milky white eyes that were slightly tinted with silver so you could see the difference of her iris and her whites. Her skin was pale but soft and she had blood red lips. She was also in shackles.

"Who are you?" she hissed, staring at me. "Answer, or I'll bring on my army!"

I struggled to sit up, looking at my chains.

"I'm just like you, miss. Can't you see?" I motioned my head towards the chains on my ankles and wrists.

Order paused, looking at me with interest.

"You have a strong aura... One of a primordial. Who are you?"

This time, she said it with more curiosity than anger. I stared at her straight in the eyes.

"I am Thalost," I said in a voice so strong, I surprised myself. "Deadliest Assassin in the Universe."

Order's eyebrows raised and she smiled.

"Oh... I've heard of your deeds, Thalost. How you've killed so many people. While it is unknown who you killed, I have heard of your vicious ways of killing."

"Indeed. And... who may you be?" I asked.

"Order. Brother of Chaos."

At Chaos's name, I forced myself to hiss in protest. Order's eyes just glinted in admiration, but also curiosity and suspicion.

"Why do you hate his name?" Order asked. "I sense his aura present on you. Are you on his side?"

A dagger appeared next to her. One I knew I wouldn't escape if she desired to fire.

"No," I shook my head, "Just a few moments ago he tried to recruit me to join his army." I brought up all the memories of him asking from years ago and pushed it to the front, as I sensed her reach through my memories. "And when I refused..." I scowled, "He dumped me down in this shithole."

Order stopped looking through my memories, aware of what was going on.

"You seem... very well informed, Thalost. You would be a valuable recruit to me."

"Indeed, Lady Order."

"However, I need you to prove your trust to me. You seem very powerful and you could be useful to have close in my rankings but... I don't trust you."

I hid all the fear I was feeling and stared straight in her eyes.

"Trust is something I can only give to someone who would go through thick and thin to make sure I was safe."

"You want to know what betrayal is?" I smirked bitterly, knowing that I could push all those terrible memories to the front for her to look over.

Order curiously looked through them and her face was unbelievably convinced. I could see in her eyes. She was falling for it. Order gave me a look of false sympathy. I knew she felt none. I knew she just wanted me for power.

"Those scoundrels! No wonder you want to raid Chaos and that filthy camp! What they did was unbelievable, Thalost!"

"Trust me when I say... I'd never press that onto someone. That was the worst moment of my life."

Order nodded with fake empathy and I gave her an evil chuckle.

"But I have to thank them. Without their... display of what it means to love, I wouldn't have become me."

I thought about one of Chaos's most valued people. One Order knew Chaos cared about. And I lied.

"Lady Order," I said, "Do you know someone named... Percy Jackson?"

"Yes, indeed. I mean... his stories are all over the Void. Such a foolish person... to fight against the Titans, even when the gods deserve nothing but shit."

I took all my hate for them from the past and put it into action so Order could feel the hate radiating off of me.

"I agree," I began to laugh darkly, "I mean... where is his common sense?"

Order and I laughed and she sighed.

"Well, as I am a primordial, I can free you from your chains. But I cannot free my own. I know you aren't a primordial, so you can't free me... but something can."

"What?" I leaned in.

"The Umbion Stone. It has the power to do the most powerful deeds. If given to me, I could get rid of these filthy chains... but only a powerful person can retrieve it."

I knew what she was asking already. She wanted me to get it.

"Order," I said, knowing how to play, "You out of all people, being the Lady Order, would know... big deeds can only be given by people who you consider highly of. Imagine how shameful it would be... if you asked... someone in your lower ranks to fetch the stone for you."

Order smirked.

"I love your style of thinking, Thalost."

She struggled, but with my help, she sat up in her chains.

"Very well, Thalost. You will serve as my eighth in command amongst my highest commanders. But be warned... these commanders I think of as friends. The more I trust you, the higher you'll climb in your position. The more you do, the more I trust you. Understand?"

I nodded and shook her chained hand.

"Very well, Lady Order. I won't let you down."

I put on a face of pure anger.

"I will crush that son of a bitch, Chaos. And then... we will destroy the galaxy for Queen Order's rule."

Order smiled and motioned for me to get ready. And as I got away from that vile lady, I took a deep, panicked breath. I was in. I was in. And there was no way out. I could feel pain from saying all those words and fear from being so close to a person who could destroy us all. But I was spying. I couldn't back down.

Chaos needed me.
