Chapter 34 - Luna taking over

I hope everyone is doing well. I know I've been updating too slow lately, but first I would like you to know that I have recently had a heavy workload and secondly I have run out of ideas on how the story goes on.  I always strive for the best result in my work and I am not satisfied with less. Adelina's pov:

I started my day with a quick stop at the coffee shop and headed to my new office. It took me two weeks to find my replacement for my position at the hospital and to sort out all the pending issues. My office was between Maximus' and Chris' offices as they told me yesterday. I climbed the stairs and reached the first floor where all the offices of the high ranking wolves were located. I passed Maximus' office and reached mine. It's been days that Maximus is avoiding me for his own incomprehensible reasons and I do not intend to become irritating. If he doesn't want to speak with me it's fine by me.

I took a deep breath and got in. At a glance, I was stunned. The office was absolutely amazing! Plenty of light diffused throughout the room. The design was very modern with minimal white furniture. White and grey colors were dominating all over. There was a desk made of glass and two white armchairs made of leather. The walls were all painted in light gray and they had modern abstract paintings on. Behind the desk there was a big window with a panoramic forest view. To my left, there was a small white bookcase with various books on it. It was obvious that whoever decorated it, knew me and my tastes very well. I was more than satisfied with the result. The office must be in a friendly environment a place hospitable and beautiful where we can feel comfortable as we spend most of our lives in it.

I sat down in my comfy chair, turned on my computer and started reviewing the files in front of me. There were many issues that needed to be resolved. The highest priority for me was to change immediately the process of adopting orphaned pups. The current background check of the foster families was completely inadequate. In my old pack the check was rare as we were a very small pack and we all knew each other. But here the check is essential but unfortunately incomplete. Another very important problem is the role of the she wolves in the pack. There are very few who are high ranked or hold senior positions in their field, and that has to change. Women are educated and qualified nowadays and they should not be devalued in this way. They can accomplish what is assigned to them just as well as a man. I cannot understand why in this pack women are treated like weak and incapable creatures. The third and very important problem that I have detected in this pack is the derogatory behavior to its omegas. The omegas are the most useful wolves in a pack as they are in charge of many daily chores. They are the pillar and the operating base of the pack house. For this reason they must be equal to everyone else and enjoy the same treatment and the same privileges as the rest pack members.

Taking all these into account, I decided to make a presentation of these problems and their solutions to Maximus and the other high ranking wolves and demand their immediate resolution with the introduction of new rules.

Maximus pov:

It has been nearly a month now that I am avoiding Adelina. My spies didn't find anything that proves that she is involved in a conspiracy against me, although during Nicolas' stay here, she spent many hours with him. The fact that she enjoys his company infuriates me. I just can't stand it. Although Nicolas had left one week ago, I merely speak with Adelina. We usually take together our lunch or dinner only for appearances and our discussions extend to the pack's matters. She has taken her role as Luna very seriously and informed me that she is going to present us a plan with modifications and changes in various areas in the proximate week. I am very curious to see what this plan will contain.

Adelina's pov:
