Chapter 39 - New Order

Jake's pov:

-"You must transfer Adelina from the dungeons immediately. What if the guards find her here? It's not what boss told you to do with her. He was very specific. You should send her to the forest, to the abandoned hut and imprison her there, not keeping her under our noses!" Leopold scolded.

-"Watch your mouth Delta. Do not forget your position. You're talking to an Alpha. My decisions are infallible. How dare to defy me?"

-"Don't you see there is a great risk to find her here?" Leopold contradicted.

-"Don't worry. They won't. I have put my most trusted people to guard her".

-"I hope you are right otherwise you know what the consequences will be."

-"If there is nothing else you want to tell me, you can be excused. And do me a favor and don't you ever come here again. You will raise suspicions".

-"Your behavior is not what it should be. You know we have to stick to the plan and not improvise. The boss will go crazy if he finds out" Leopold contradicted.

-"Enough! You said what you wanted to say, now get out of my office" I shouted at him.

How dares he? The boss this...... the boss that. Who gives a damn about this idiot? I do not need him to be King and certainly I am not afraid of him. If he was as powerful as they say he is, not so many people would be involved in this project. He would do it by himself as I did. He is another pathetic incompetent lad.

-"Αlpha, Alpha Maximus of the Drako pack is on the phone. He wants to speak to you. Should I pass the line to you?" my secretary, Joanna informed me.

-"Yes Joanna, do it." I told her. What does this arrogant want now? I am sick of his whims! I took a deep breath and picked up the phone.

-"Alpha Maximus. What a pleasure to hear you. How I can help you?" I tried to be as nice as I could.

-"It's been three days in a row that we are searching for Adelina and we have nothing. I want results asap".

-"Why do you tell this to me Alpha? It is your team you have to scold. My team has already stopped since yesterday".

-"With whose permission did you do this? Who did you inform about it?" he said with his well-known annoying megalomania.

-"I do not need to inform anyone Maximus. I am an Alpha and I do whatever I want with my pack. Besides I am not going to waste money, time and resources to a lost cause."

-"Lost cause your sister? Have you lost completely your mind? What the hell are you doing?' he said furiously.

-"The obvious. My sister run away with her own will. Why look for her? There is no point in doing this. She won't be found if she doesn't want to. I respect that."

-"What are all these nonsense?" he said imposingly.

-"The truth Maximus, the truth. You know as well as I do, that you two have never been real mates. It was just an agreement between you and her. You always treated her badly. You've constantly ignored and abused her. What did you expect? The bond to do its magic and Adelina to fall for you? Get real! My sister is in love with another: someone who loves and cares about her. She doesn't love you and she never will. She finally left with the one her heart desires. Do not accuse anyone else cause this is your sole mistake. You managed to chase her away from you."

And it was then that he hung up the phone. What an idiot! Soon I will be able to get rid of him and his unreasonable demands.
